An Inspired Chat with Isaac Navias of Scottsdale

Isaac Navias shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Isaac , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Since I travel full time with my partner Kim a normal day for me is always different. On Monday’s we focus on our passions and building new businesses. On Tuesday and Thursday I focus on running my SEO Marketing Agency LocalFi. Wednesday we call Wonderlust Wednesdays and are out exploring this amazing world. Fridays are for learning something new editing our Podcast Full Time to Travel Time and exploring.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Isaac, founder of LocalFi: SEO Digital Marketing Agency. We help local and service-based businesses grow by getting found online, not with gimmicks or hacks, but with smart, sustainable SEO strategies that actually work.

My partner and I started LocalFi in 2018 with a simple mission: to support locally owned businesses doing real, great work in their local communities. In 2024 became an award winning agency and in 2025 LocalFi became the first Green Certified Marketing Company in AZ. We focus on helping Local Businesses with their Google Maps, Websites/SEO and AI Search Results.

Right now, we’re educating and helping our clients of The LocalFi Family navigate the world of AI and how to get their businesses appearing in AI Search Results, and even how to get ChatGPT and other AI platforms speaking highly about their business.

One other unique factor about our business is that we recently became the only marketing agency in all of Arizona to have earned our Arizona Green Business Certification from Local First Arizona’s Sustainability Program.

We have also earned the Purpose-Driven GreenLight Gratitude Award from non-profit organization, GreenLight Solutions. I have also personally won the UBFast46 Award which means I was in the top 46 fastest-growing businesses owned or led by a University at Buffalo alum.

Also, In 2024 I launched the Sustainable Travel Brand and Podcast, Full Time to Travel Time. On our podcast we focus on highlighting everything you need to know about traveling to our awesome National Parks. We highlight how couples can travel full time and even everything you need to know about traveling to Europe.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world tried to tell me who to be, I was just a kid watching my dad pour his heart into something meaningful. He ran the International Mask and Puppet Museum in New York. It was a creative, cultural space doing incredible community work, but I also saw how hard it was for him to keep it going. He relied on grants, and I witnessed firsthand how difficult it was to sustain something good and impactful when the funding wasn’t stable.

That really stuck with me. I didn’t have the words for it at the time, but I knew I wanted to help people like my dad. I wanted to help people doing real, impactful work in their local communities. I wanted to help them find a way to thrive without constantly scraping by.

So even when I was working in corporate HR after college, something didn’t feel right. I wanted more freedom, more meaning, and more connection to work that mattered. When I discovered the power of Local SEO and how it could literally transform locally owned businesses, I realized this was the path. I could help mission-driven, locally owned businesses not just survive, but actually grow and thrive, using strategies that didn’t rely on guesswork.

That’s what led to LocalFi. And in a way, I think I’ve always been the guy who wanted to bridge that gap between passion and sustainability, between community and growth.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
In my early 20’s I knew something was wrong, I had lost my passion for life and was struggling just to accomplish daily tasks. I ended up quitting my Executive HR job and spent my entire life saving on medical testing. I found I had severe sleep apnea, I was waking up over 40 times and hour and that was what was causing my mental and energy struggles. What came next was 2 years of dedicating all the willpower I had to completely changing my lifestyle. I learned about nutrition and completely changed my diet. I learned about core strength, I learned about detoxing and how to have a positive mindset even when you feel terrible. This time period has helped me navigate though our increasing toxic world and gave me the tools to keep pushing through even when you feel like you can’t take another step.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to sustainability, not as a trend, but as a lifelong responsibility to this planet we’re lucky enough to call home.

My partner, Kim, and I have explored 40 of the 63 U.S. National Parks, and every time we step into those breathtaking, jaw-dropping places, we’re reminded how much this Earth provides us. The beauty of this planet and nature heals us, helps us think more clearly, inspires us, and opens our eyes, and now, it’s our turn to give back.

We’ve made big shifts in our personal life to live more sustainably: We’ve eliminated almost all single-use plastics, and we’re constantly finding ways to lower our carbon footprint as we travel full-time. Through our brand and comedic travel podcast, Full Time to Travel Time, we share tips for sustainable travel, because adventure and conservation can (and should) go hand in hand.

One project I’m especially proud of is a Work From Home Sustainability Guide we created, (in collaboration with non-profit organization, GreenLight Solutions), to help remote workers reduce their environmental impact right from their home office, regardless of where they are in the world. It’s about building small, doable habits that lead to big change over time.

And that’s the heart of my approach: sustainability shouldn’t feel like punishment. It’s not about giving up everything you’re used to or never eating meat again. It’s about finding simple, consistent ways to reduce your impact without sacrificing the joy of living. Those kinds of small, sustainable habits can even save you money at home or in your business! When more people feel empowered to take small steps, the collective effect can be massive.

This world has given us so much. I don’t just believe, but know, that we can live in sync with it—exploring it, enjoying it, and preserving it for future generations. I’ll never stop working toward that.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I believe I was put on this planet to be an explorer. To learn from my explorations and teach others the lesson gained. I am proud to say not only have I set my life up to explore mostly full time (I travel at least 6 months a year) but in 2024 put into action teaching others the lessons I’ve learned.

In 2024 my partner Kim and I launched our sustainable travel brand and Podcast, Full Time to Travel Time. Full Time to Travel Time is a comedic travel show, where we provide people full guides on visiting the National Parks, roadtripping, and even how to travel Europe. We also focus on sustainable travel and educating our listeners on awesome sustainable travel products and not only help the planet, but make traveling more enjoyable.

Finally we teach others how they can start traveling full time. We give business insights and interview incredible people who have figured out their own system for allowing them to travel where ever when ever they want.

Many people have told me that trip planning is what stops them from traveling, and planning trips is what I was born to do. We are currently working on releasing full youtube guides and itineraries for many National Parks, including Sequoia NP, Petrified Forest NP, Canyon De Chelly and more.
