We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bethany MacLean. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Bethany , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
What’s Most Misunderstood About My Business

By Bethany, founder of Bewitched by Bethany

People often assume that being a psychic, witch, or intuitive means I’m performing tricks or predicting every detail of the future. In truth, my work is about connection, not control. Every reading, ritual, or class I offer is designed to help people understand the language of energy—how emotions, choices, and unseen forces shape our lives.

Another misconception is that witchcraft is “dark.” My practice is rooted in healing, self-awareness, and empowerment. Candle magic, tarot, and energy work are simply tools to reconnect us with our intuition and the natural world. The flame, the cards, the herbs—each mirrors what’s happening within the soul.

Finally, many don’t realize how much discipline and compassion go into this work. I study symbolism, psychology, and energetic law daily. Every session is a sacred responsibility. My goal isn’t to impress people with predictions—it’s to help them feel grounded, seen, and capable of creating their own magic.

At its heart, Bewitched by Bethany isn’t about spells—it’s about sovereignty, healing, and remembering your power.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Bethany, and I’m the creator behind Bewitched by Bethany A metaphysical brand dedicated to helping others reconnect with their intuition, clear energetic blockages, and step fully into their personal power. I’m a psychic, tarot reader, hypnotherapist, and energy worker with over a decade of experience blending ancient practices with modern spiritual insight.

What makes my work unique is that every reading, ritual, or class I offer is completely personalized — tuned to the client’s energy and life path. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all spirituality; I believe in meeting people where they are and helping them rediscover the magic already within them.

Through Bewitched by Bethany, I share candle magic, tarot guidance, intuitive healing, and spiritual education – all rooted in authenticity, empowerment, and real energetic transformation. I’m currently working on a candle interpretation course, a book about my supernatural and awakening experiences, and my Veilwalker Oracle deck, which visually captures the beings and energies I’ve encountered throughout my journey.

My story is one of awakening learning to trust the unseen, transmute fear into wisdom, and turn my lived experiences into light for others.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is often disconnection from truth. when fear, ego, or unhealed pain clouds the heart and silences the soul’s honesty. Energy doesn’t lie, but humans often do — mostly to themselves. When we lie to ourselves overtime we lose our connection with self and others. This also happens when we stop listening to one another’s energy and start protecting our wounds instead, love begins to fracture. .

What restores those bonds is presence, forgiveness, and soul remembrance. When two people can see beyond their defenses and feel each other’s spirit again — not through words, but through energy — healing begins. It’s not always about going back to how things were, but allowing something purer to emerge.

In my work, I see this every day — how light returns when truth is spoken, how cords of love heal when both souls choose awareness over fear. The bond that truly lasts is the one built on soul recognition, not convenience or control. Love in its highest form isn’t a cage — it’s a current. And when both people are willing to flow with it again, everything that was broken can be reborn.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me what success never could — how to listen to the silence between worlds. Pain strips away illusions. It humbles the ego, quiets the noise, and reveals what’s really beneath the surface. In my darkest moments, I learned to find light not outside of me, but within me — in the quiet pulse of my own soul.

Success can build confidence, but suffering builds wisdom. It taught me compassion, discernment, and how to see through energy with clearer eyes. It showed me that healing isn’t about returning to who you were before — it’s about becoming who you were always meant to be.

Every scar became a map, every heartbreak a portal. Suffering taught me how to transmute pain into power and fear into faith. Without it, I would never have discovered the magic that lives inside-the sacred alchemy that turns wounds into light.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the spiritual industry tells itself is that enlightenment can be packaged — that awakening is a product, a trend, or a quick fix. True transformation isn’t something you can buy; it’s something you become. It’s messy, uncomfortable, and often requires walking through darkness before finding the light.

Another lie is that only “love and light” are welcome. In truth, shadow work, grief, and discomfort are sacred teachers too. Too often, the industry hides the raw, human side of healing — the nights of doubt, the moments of surrender, the humility that deep wisdom requires.

I believe spirituality was never meant to be perfect or polished. It’s meant to be real. When we stop pretending and start showing up as our whole selves — light, shadow, and all — we return to the true essence of magic: authenticity, connection, and remembering who we are beneath the performance.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by nature — under a wide sky, where the wind carries whispers and the earth hums softly beneath my feet. The desert, especially, speaks to me. There’s something sacred about its stillness — the way silence there isn’t empty, but alive.

In those moments, I can feel everything — the pulse of creation, the presence of spirit, the rhythm of my own breath syncing with the heartbeat of the world. That’s where I remember who I am beyond the noise, beyond the human story.

Whether I’m lighting a candle, watching the flame dance, or standing under the moon in quiet gratitude, peace always finds me when I return to the elements — earth, fire, air, and water — and let them remind me that I’m never separate from the divine.
