Today we’d like to introduce you to Deuandra Brown.
Deuandra T. Brown is a BMI Recording artist signed to Detaron Records since 2012. Songwriter/Music Producer/ Runway & Print Model. SAG-AFTRA Actress/Producer/Director. Deuandra received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Motion Picture/Television Production in 2010. She was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Deuandra has produced/directed/wrote her own indie films that were seen on the Big Screen. “CraZy A$$ B!Tche$, Plum, Who Else To Blame, Diamond Cobra vs. The White Fox, On The Road To Christ, and many more. When Deuandra released her 1st album back in 2012 entitled “Spoil ME”, she produced an album release party that was aired on AZTV featuring 10 local talent contestants as her opening act. Deuandra has released 4 albums: Spoil ME, Selfie, Emojis, Stylish, 2 EP: Haters and “Spill The Tea” Also, a member of the Recording Academy since 2014, and working on more films to come. In 2014, Deuandra was featured on MTV Copycat tv show performing Alicia Keys nationwide. In 2015 Deuandra won best R&B/Pop song “Selfie” from the Akademia Music Awards and in April 2016, she won best music video for her song “I’m Living In Now.” She was also featured twice in the Nov. 2015 Billboard Magazines in the emerging artist section. In 2017, Deuandra was Nominated in the 5th annual Indie Music Channel Awards for best R&B Music Video for her song Lipstick Heels. In 2018, Deuandra won best short film in Miami at the indie wise film festival for her film “CraZy A$$ B!tche$’ now on Amazon and Detaron TV (Roku).
Deuandra is the CEO of Detaron Productions since 2010 right after she graduated from college with her BA degree she started a film/music production company and now her own Roku channel called Detaron TV also coming to Amazon fire stick soon.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Deuandra was born with a hemangioma in her throat. Doctors said that she would never talk and that she was going to have to have a tracheotomy put in her throat. Her mother refused to allow that to happen. Her mother is a prayer warrior, through the grace of God, the doctors were able to do the laser surgery successfully and removed the hemangioma from her throat. It’s a true blessing that she is a professional recording artist and actress.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Detaron Productions story. Tell us more about it.
I’m most proud of my career and everything I’ve accomplished on my own without any help from others, my mom has been there by my side. I’m most definitely an independent woman when comes to financing my films/music career, I wear many hats in the things I do. From the writer, producer, director, VFX editor, casting, transportation, lighting, music for my films, music videos, etc. I even produce/write/compose my own songs. I’m an app developer as well. When I’m not working on my art, I work as a caregiver with adults with mental disabilities such as autism. I enjoy wearing so many hats in life. I started my film/music production company right after college in 2010, I’m very proud of all the films/music videos/songs that I’ve created through my company.
Tell us about your favorite and least favorites things about our city.
I love being from Scottsdale, AZ, the weather is great, beautiful place to live. Sometimes, it is too hot, I must say I enjoy our winters more so then our summers.
