Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary White, Marc Ellis, Eric Ellis, Evan Dorney.
Zachary, Marc, Eric, Evan, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
In the beginning there was nothing, but not the nothing we attribute to the word “nothing.” The word “nothing” implies a singular presence diametrically opposed to another. The true nature of reality in this state existed with no other frame of reference, without time and space-ultimate emptiness. Unknowable machinations eventually birthed chronology and capacity which thrusted aimlessly through infinite quantum space until they found intersection. In this way God was born. Over six days God created the cosmos and the abyss. Light, darkness, heaven, earth, oceans, sand and animals gave way to the inception of man himself. On the seventh day God rested. He named his child, the father of man, Adam and he blessed him with a wife so as to populate the earth. Adam begat Abel who begat Enoch who begat Methuselah who begat Lamech who begat 3 brothers named Dornazar, Whitebendigo and Ellisuvius. Together the three brothers created man’s first musical instrument which they called the “skinflute.” Their descendants Evan Dorney, Zac White, Marc Ellis and Eric Ellis hone their sacred craft to this day in a band called T.O.S.O.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Pabsterelli
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
True art, art capable of real social change died a long time ago. The biggest challenge facing artists today is that art of any real merit and authenticity will inevitably be defanged, commodified and repurposed in late capitalism. All an artist can do now is ferry society down the river styx to post-ironic culture death and keep it entertaining along the way. You could liken it to thinking on happy memories during a plane crash, coping as you spiral into meaningless nonexistence.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
The best way to support our band is to donate copies of Shrek on VHS as we will be asserting the world record in 2019. Email tosoband@gmail.com for mailing address and inquiries on this.
