Meet Jessica Bridges

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Bridges.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve taken photos for as long as I can remember. I started out taking landscape photos of places I traveled. Then I got my first DSLR in late 2012 and I’ve had the pleasure of capturing moments of friends and family that will last a life time. I love taking portraits of seniors, families, kids milestones, pets, maternity, newborn and couples.

Please tell us about your art.
I try to not only take photos of just the people in my view finder but the scenery around us. Composition is important to me. My photos are my artwork so I try to give my clients an experience they will enjoy and want to keep coming back to see me. I want them to laugh and interact with each other while I just snap away. Some of my favorite shots are the ones I snap before they are posed. I want people to feel comfortable around me because it’s always uncomfortable to be in front of a camera. So if I can help them feel at ease, it will radiate through my images.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I believe photography is an art you have to master. It’s taken me a long time to teach myself how to work a fancy camera. A lot of trial and errors. I feel 100% more confident than I did last year. Each time I pick up my camera I’m learning.

This day in age with the things Photoshop can do, it can give people a false sense of reality. I try to keep my images as close to real life as possible.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can find my work on Instagram under
Bridges_photography_az and Facebook under Bridges Photography.

I would love for new people to follow my photography journey and like my work on social media. I would also love to meet the readers out there that need some photos taken or possibly collaborate with some other artist.
