Meet Trailblazer Jessica Lee Randon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Lee Randon.

Jessica Lee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Texas and raised in Arizona ranging from Peoria to South Phoenix. My parents struggled with addiction, so my siblings and I lived in and out of foster care and with many relatives. At a young age, I began working full time because I knew that caring for my family and providing an example for my sibling was solely up to me. And, at the age of 17, I decided to join the United States Army, a decision that would change my life forever. While in the service, I was an award-winning Broadcast Journalist, hosting a radio show as well as producing many radio spots and anchoring a television newscast. Even with these accomplishments, I experienced many trials ranging from sexual assault to an inability to meet their physical fitness standards. After serving for 6 years, I got out of the military and struggled immensely with my mental health. I went from being successful too and well renowned to starting from scratch and unknown. And not only was I starting over and feeling alone in the process, but I was left to heal wounds that I felt I would have never gotten, had I not served.

After falling in and out of a dark headspace, I stumbled upon The Secret, which teaches that law of attraction and the idea that we all possess the power to create our own destiny and through this, we discover our purpose. So, at the age of 23, I wrote and published my first book titled, Free Yourself, a book on growth and motivation. From there, I entered into the creative community as a writer primarily focusing on poetry. I then picked up photography originally only getting a camera to start a motivational YouTube channel before realizing how much I enjoyed being behind the lens. This gave birth to Stimuli Photography. A photography brand that I use to shine a light on people in my community and fellow entrepreneurs, etc. All of this is to fund my ultimate dream which is to take my Mind.Full.Motivation brand and turn it into a Spiritual Community Center geared towards uplifting millennials as we search to get away from religion, but are still in need of uplifting words and community.

Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest lesson I have learned is that when you are in the midst of attracting something great, there will always be something to test just how bad you want it. And no matter what is thrown your way, the only thing that can actually stop you from achieving what it is you set your mind on, is yourself. We are our own worst critics. We question what we think of ourselves and refuse to believe what others see in us. As women, we are powerful beyond measure. Often times, we are told we can not be successful because we are too emotional. But if we can learn to stop mistaking our strengths for our weaknesses, we will realize that the only reason we feel as much as we do is that we are connected to a divine energy. We have the capacity to not just comfort but to heal. WE ARE LOVE. And there is nothing greater. So, I say when things get heavy and you feel like throwing in your towel, choose love. Choose to love yourself, and your dream. Choose to love your community and all of the people who may be standing in your way, doubting your every move. I know it sounds cliché but love saved me. With everything in my life that I have experienced, even in times, where I felt like I didn’t know what love actually was, the whole time, love was me. I am enough, YOU are enough, WE are enough.

We’d love to hear more about Stimuli Photgraphy, Mind.Full.Motivation.
I am so many things. We often times, feel like we need to limit ourselves to one area of specializing but we can do all things if we truly wanted to. I am an author, a spoken word poet, a photographer, a motivator, a speaker. The common thing amongst these all is that I am a storyteller and I long to use stories to heal others. No matter the manner in which a story is shared or created I want truth and humility to shed a light on love and what it can do. The bridges it can build and the hearts it can mend. I want to shed light on what it is to be human. No matter what I am doing, I want to have a lasting positive impact on those around me. That is what sets me apart from others. It’s not about money or fame. It’s not about winning or gains. It’s about impact. It’s about spreading light and love.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I find that it is so important to have tools in life that help you stay on track. In today’s society, negativity and pride are poisonous as can be and it is very easy to get swept up in their path of destruction. So when I start feeling as though my mind is slipping back into those dark spaces I will watch Tony Robbins, I Am Not Your Guru. I will re-watch The Secret. I will watch Oprah’s Life Class on YouTube as well as an episode of Ellen DeGeneres. Anything that will remind me of what to focus my energy on and anything that will make me smile and laugh in order to promote a positive energy flow within myself.
