Daily Inspiration: Meet Jilsy Dinse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jilsy Dinse.

Hi Jilsy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
“True healing comes when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just the symptoms.”

I am an Ayurveda doctor who moved to the United States in 2011 with my husband, bringing with me a deep passion for holistic healing. From the beginning, I was drawn to Ayurveda not just as a medical system, but as a way of life—one that emphasizes balance, prevention, and the deep connection between mind and body. Alongside Ayurveda, yoga has always been an integral part of my journey, supporting both physical and emotional well-being.

Like many internationally trained practitioners, establishing myself in the U.S. came with challenges. Ayurveda is still growing in recognition here, so a big part of my early work involved educating people, building trust, and helping them understand the value of a holistic approach. Many professionals in this field share a similar path—starting small, offering consultations, workshops, and wellness sessions, and gradually growing through word of mouth and client outcomes.

In 2016, I expanded my skills by obtaining my Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) bodywork license, which allowed me to bring a more hands-on healing approach into my practice. With this foundation, I established Ayurvilla Wellness Center LLC, which has now supported and served more than 10,000 individuals in the valley.

As I worked closely with clients, I recognized the deep connection between physical health and mental well-being. This inspired me to further my education in mental health. In 2020, I earned my LMSW license, and in 2025, I became an Independently Licensed Clinician (LCSW). I also completed certification in EMDR, a trauma-focused therapy that helps individuals process and heal from difficult life experiences.

Today, I am able to integrate Ayurveda, bodywork, yoga, and psychotherapy into a comprehensive, holistic model of care—addressing the mind, body, and soul together. This integrated approach allows me to support clients more deeply, especially those dealing with stress, trauma, and chronic conditions. Additionally, psychotherapy services are covered by most insurance plans, making mental health care more accessible.

My journey has been one of growth, resilience, and continuous learning, but my core purpose has remained the same—to help people heal naturally and live a balanced, meaningful life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a completely smooth road. Like many practitioners who bring traditional healing systems into a new country, my journey has included its share of challenges and learning experiences.

One of the biggest initial struggles was establishing Ayurveda in a setting where it is not widely understood or recognized as part of mainstream healthcare. I often had to spend time educating clients about what Ayurveda is, how it works, and how it differs from conventional medicine. Building trust took time, especially when people were unfamiliar with holistic and preventive approaches.

There were also professional hurdles. Transitioning into a new country meant navigating licensing requirements and expanding my qualifications. Pursuing my LMT license in 2016, followed by my LMSW in 2020 and LCSW in 2025, required significant dedication, time, and balance between personal life, studies, and work. Like many in my field, I had to continuously adapt and grow to bridge the gap between traditional healing and modern clinical practice.

Starting and growing Ayurvilla Wellness Center LLC was another journey in itself. Building a client base from the ground up, managing a business, and ensuring quality care for each individual required persistence and resilience. There were moments of uncertainty, especially in the early years, but consistency and genuine care helped build a strong community over time.

Another challenge that many holistic practitioners share is integrating mind-body approaches into systems that often treat them separately. This is what inspired me to pursue psychotherapy and trauma-focused training in EMDR. It allowed me to better address the emotional and psychological aspects of healing, which are deeply connected to physical health.

Despite these challenges, each step has contributed to where I am today. The struggles helped me grow—not just professionally, but personally—and strengthened my commitment to providing a truly holistic approach to healing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is centered around providing a truly holistic approach to healing—integrating Ayurveda, bodywork, yoga, and psychotherapy to support the mind, body, and soul together. With 21 years of experience practicing in India, Europe (Slovenia), and the United States, I bring a diverse and well-rounded perspective to holistic health and wellness.

I specialize in helping individuals manage stress, trauma, chronic health conditions, and lifestyle-related concerns by addressing the root cause rather than just symptoms. Over the years, I have been fortunate to witness many successful outcomes, particularly in supporting clients with immune disorders and joint-related conditions such as sciatica, tendonitis, cervical spondylosis,. Also several types of headaches – migraines and sinusitis . I also work extensively with women’s health concerns, using a personalized and integrative approach to care.

One of the unique aspects of my practice at Ayurvilla Wellness Center LLC is that we offer most of the Ayurveda therapies that are legally permitted in the United States. This allows clients to experience authentic treatments without needing to travel to India. We provide structured Panchakarma programs, including 7, 14, and 21-day sessions, known for their deep detoxification and rejuvenation benefits.

Ayurvilla also offers specialized Kerala Ayurveda therapies that are rarely available elsewhere in the U.S., including Njavarakizhi, Pizhichil, Thalapothichil, and various types of Vasthi. Because of these unique offerings, many clients travel from different states to receive care at our center.

To make the experience seamless for those coming from afar, we assist with arranging accommodation, food, and transportation. Our serene, homely environment creates a comforting space where clients can fully focus on healing and recovery.

What truly sets my work apart is the integration of traditional Ayurveda with modern psychotherapy. As an Independently Licensed Clinician (LCSW) with EMDR trauma-focused certification, I am able to support both the physical and emotional aspects of well-being. This combined approach is especially effective for individuals dealing with stress, trauma, and chronic conditions where the mind-body connection is essential. Additionally, psychotherapy services are covered by most insurance plans, increasing accessibility to care.

What I am most proud of is the impact we have created—supporting over 10,000 individuals in their healing journeys and building a trusted space for holistic wellness. Helping people restore balance in their lives, naturally and sustainably, continues to be the most meaningful part of my work.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the Ayurveda and holistic wellness industry not just growing—but becoming more integrated, more respected, and more accessible than ever before.

One of the biggest shifts is the rapid growth and acceptance of Ayurveda globally. The U.S. Ayurveda market alone is projected to grow significantly, reaching nearly $4 billion by 2030, with strong annual growth rates. Globally, the industry is expanding even faster, driven by increasing awareness of natural healing, chronic disease management, and preventive care . This tells us that Ayurveda is moving from an “alternative” option to a more mainstream wellness choice.

Another major trend is the integration of Ayurveda with modern healthcare and science. There is a growing demand for evidence-based, research-backed holistic care. Ayurveda is increasingly being validated through clinical studies and integrated with medical systems, mental health care, and lifestyle medicine (The Times of India). This aligns closely with my own work—combining Ayurveda with psychotherapy and trauma-informed care.

We are also seeing a strong shift toward personalized and preventive healthcare. People are moving away from one-size-fits-all treatments and looking for individualized care that considers their body type, lifestyle, and emotional well-being. Ayurveda naturally fits into this model, as personalization has always been at its core .

Another important trend is the rise of mind-body wellness and mental health integration. With increasing stress, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions, people are seeking approaches that address both physical and emotional health together. The demand for therapies that combine body-based healing with mental health support—such as integrating Ayurveda with psychotherapy, yoga, and trauma therapies—is expected to grow significantly.

We are also seeing growth in wellness tourism and immersive healing experiences. More people are traveling for authentic, retreat-style healing—seeking environments where they can fully disconnect, detox, and reset. This includes Panchakarma programs and residential wellness experiences, which are becoming more popular globally.

At the same time, accessibility is improving. Digital platforms, telehealth, and online education are making Ayurveda more available to people who may not have had access before. E-commerce and global distribution are also expanding the reach of Ayurvedic products and services.

Finally, I see a strong emphasis on authenticity and quality. As Ayurveda grows, there will be more focus on proper training, ethical practice, and maintaining the integrity of traditional methods. Clients are becoming more informed and are seeking genuine, experience-based care rather than superficial trends.

Overall, the industry is moving toward a future where holistic, integrative, and personalized care becomes the norm rather than the exception. I believe practitioners who can bridge traditional wisdom with modern clinical approaches—while maintaining authenticity—will play a key role in shaping that future.
