Meet Seth Bacon of Trinity Air Medical in Arizona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Bacon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Seth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At 20 years old I devoted myself to a career in the Fire Service. Soon I was hired full time as a firefighter for the City of Chandler. Over the next 18 years I worked for multiple departments, promoted rapidly and took on many challenging and exciting assignments. I was also employed as a critical care flight paramedic for a private air ambulance company and that experience is what fueled my inspiration to begin my own company, Trinity Air Medical.

Trinity Air Medical was founded on the purpose of providing long range transportation services for anyone in need of medical attention. Today we continue that mission and have touched five continents. We are also the official provider for Donor Network of Arizona and the 5 transplant hospitals in the state. We coordinate all of the logistics for movement of medical transplant teams, organs and equipment. Trinity has also grown into other states and provided services for over 20 transplant centers and organ procurement organizations.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No. Is it ever with a boot strap start up? But that’s where the lessons begin. If it was easy, most everyone would do it. It takes an incredible amount of perseverance, hard work, determination, self-discipline, etc to power through the tough days.

Financial struggles are critical and can easily kill a start-up or any organization. Learning how to survive on scraps becomes the norm. Learn from the masters of business. Those that have been in similar positions before. Hard work is necessary yes but also work smart with the advice of others.

Then when financial support does begin to come in and you begin to actually hire people starts another level of stress and responsibility. The road is not smooth. It’s not supposed to be. But preparing for the rough road and having the strength to endure is vital.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Trinity Air Medical – what should we know?
Trinity Air Medical transports individuals with medical needs from any two places in the world. Our team of Nurses, Paramedics and Respiratory Therapists travel side by side utilizing commercial travel to safely and comfortably get those in need where they need to go.

In 2015 we were awarded the transportation and logistics contract for Donor Network of Arizona and the 5 transplant centers in Arizona. We took a very unique approach create a successful solution for those customers. Today that book of business has exploded into other areas of the country and for many more hospitals and organizations.

I’m proud of the service we provide. We are assisting transplant teams save lives. We are moving people all around the world who need help. For instance, helping the elderly return to their home city or near relatives for later stages in life. It feels good to be a service business that is focused on the positive side of health care and a business model that is performed less expensively than our competitors.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have a board of 4 other members. All of them have been with me from almost the beginning. Their mentorship, care for my personal well-being and drive they have to build this business has been a blessing. Family and friends have been very supportive and encouraging. My son never once complained about my business meetings or long hours. I promised him that one day it would be worth it ~ fortunately so far that part has become true.
