Thanks for sharing your story with us Maria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a graphic designer with more than 12 years of experience. I have always wanted my own business, but never went for it, neither I knew what I wanted to do. After 30, I realized that time is right, I’m ready and I want to quit my job to be flexible with time. So, I can spend more time with my family here in the US and/or go to Russia and spend one to two months there with my sister, nephews, mom and dad. Working from my laptop and don’t worry about vacation time or schedule.
I started buying real estate. renting it out. Where I realized I can manage the property, I can do business, then I started taking Instagram marketing classes with my friend from college. Classes taught how to sell the product. I’ve decided I need to find one. I didn’t think long I decided to sell swimsuits. The product we need in Phoenix all year long basically 🙂 plus, I can model and market them myself.
The thing I like the most is editing pictures, building a website and hanging with girls trying new swimsuits/ summer clothes on, planning photoshoots, etc. Challenge was to find the right product. As my first arrival was too simple, the second one was a bomb!
Has it been a smooth road?
Struggles were with not realizing what’s wrong when I have been selling the first collection. People that were following me didn’t even realize that I started to sell swimwear. Failing Facebook adds.
Tell us more about the business.
Swimsuits, bikinis, resort wear. Swimwear you will not find in the stores. Rhinestone and crystal details. different design. bright, making statement designs.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I will do my own design and production. I will also do lingerie and loungewear.
