Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Collins.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My Mom is the one who actually helped us get our start. Family has always been a very important thing to me and the best people I have ever known were my Grandparents, Al and Betty. My Grandfather was the photographer in the family, taking photos and videos at almost every family get together, and my Grandmother loved to travel and would take us to so many wonderful places.
My Grandfather gave me my love for photography and my Grandmother gave me a love for adventure so thinking of them together the photo booth inside of a travel trailer just seemed so fitting! My husband and I had already been working on another vintage travel trailer that we were updating to use for camping, so we had an idea of what we were getting into starting this project.
I’m the designer and my husband is the builder, so without him, this whole thing would’ve never come to light. I decided to name the trailer after my grandma Betty, and our freestanding unit is named Al. This business is nothing but joy. I get to see people laughing and smiling and having so much fun taking pictures, you can really feel that energy from every person who steps out of the trailer.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
So far so good. We have been very fortunate in the path that’s been leading us so far. We’ve had a lot of great opportunities and I can’t wait to keep sharing Betty with everyone!
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
Betty is an authentic vintage 1956 Rainbow “canned ham” trailer with a custom build photo booth nestled inside. We specialize in custom-designed photo strips for any event or occasion and have many backdrops and props to make your photo session unforgettable.
We are proud to bring the fun to a party and to be able to make it an unforgettable experience. Touches of the “days gone by” are the things that sets Bonafide Betty apart from other photo booths. You get an authentic vintage feel inside of her, as some things can just not be replicated.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The only “big” plan we have right now is changing the paint scheme and design of the outside of Betty. We want it to be more fitting for any color scheme or theme of an event, so we are changing her to black and white. But don’t worry the vintage feel and integrity will still stand out in the design and overall feel.
