Today we’d like to introduce you to Sorry X.
Sorry, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child, I was emotionally and physically bullied for being “different.” In second grade, my grandpa gave me my first guitar and I began to sing and write songs which turned into a form of therapy for me. Ever since then, I have learned multiple instruments such as the bass guitar and the saxophone. I have played and sang in numerous bands around Arizona and now as I prepare to graduate college, I have finally found my voice as Sorry X and have found success in being myself.
Has it been a smooth road?
It took many years as an artist to really hone my craft and honestly, I feel that I am still evolving. I have played countless shows where people just walked by and didn’t even give my music a chance, but I carried on because I believed in myself. It can be hard as a musician to not compare yourself to others, but that will only do more harm than good.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a musician and my music has alternative rock and hip-hop influences. I’m known for writing more emotional lyrics and having a unique sound. I’m completely self-made and I record and mix all of the vocals myself!
What are your plans for the future?
I am in the process of releasing my first 5 song EP, “All Grown Up” and my first music video for my song “Reptar” will be dropping at the end of April as well! I also have merchandise that I will be selling soon and I would love to go on tour.
