Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Cohen.
Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2005, after completing medical school, a combined plastic surgery residency and aesthetic surgery fellowship, I built out an office and operating room in Paradise Valley, Arizona with the goal of creating a center that represented the safest, highest quality standards in plastic surgery. Although I performed many hundreds of reconstructive procedures for trauma early in my practice, my true interest and surgical focus was on the artistry of aesthetic surgery of the breast, body and face. Over the last 12 years, I continued to advance my training in this area by becoming adept at handling some of the most challenging revision cases, and utilizing the latest techniques and material options to help my patients. My efforts were appreciated by the plastic surgery community where I became a national and international speaker on aesthetic surgery topics, helping to improve the safety and skills of other plastic surgeons around the world. I also published many papers in the plastic surgery literature, in addition to book chapters in our main textbooks. I am proud to say that after over a decade of intense effort and focus on superior results, patient care and safety, my facility has become known as the go-to center for excellent aesthetic surgery in Arizona, and attracts patients from all over the US and many other countries as well. Years ago, I also became a founding member of UTU Humanitarian Alliance, which, for every surgery I perform, provides reconstructive surgery for child in a third world country. Through UTU, my patients can take pride in the fact that they have facilitated many hundreds of life altering surgeries for children in need.
Has it been a smooth road?
Overall, the road to success required a lot of hard work and focus, but I have to say the progression was fairly smooth. Every practice has its day to day challenges, but I have been truly lucky to have excellent and caring staff in my office and operating room, and really wonderful patients who trust me, communicate well, and make my work very enjoyable. I can’t imagine doing something other than plastic surgery, and a large part of this is because I love being able to help my patients improve their lives, and I have the fortune to be surrounded by enthusiastic and dedicated people.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have a plastic surgery practice that focuses on aesthetic surgery, and I am particularly known for breast and body aesthetic surgery such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, complex breast revision surgery, abdominoplasty, “mommy makeover” surgery and liposuction / fat grafting. I also have a full array of non-invasive treatments provided by highly skilled staff at my office. I am in the process of adding other top-notch surgeons to my practice to cover an even wider variety of procedures. What sets my practice apart is the unrelenting focus on quality, safety, and surgery that uses the absolute latest innovations to provide customized results for my patients. In becoming an expert on fixing other surgeon’s complications and teaching on these topics, I really honed my surgical skills and reduced complication rates for all of my cases. The other feature that distinguishes my practice is the truly VIP experience my patients are provided, from their first phone call through each and every office experience. My amazing staff deserve credit for the hard work and attention to detail that makes each patient’s experience so personalized and special. I am constantly getting patient feedback regarding how friendly, attentive and helpful my staff are, and I could not do what I do without them!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Scottsdale / Paradise is an excellent place for a plastic surgery practice. Patients are very nice and take good care of their health, the city is quite business-friendly, and the plastic surgery community as a whole is high quality and very supportive of one another.
