Meet Kiefer Strong

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiefer Strong.

Kiefer Strong

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Hello, my name is Kiefer Strong. I started my journey in music when I was 14 years old. I started playing bass in a band my brother and I, along with a high school buddy of mine, started called “My Sonic Embryo.” After our original drummer left, my brother Mike and I became a two-piece rock band consisting of only bass and drums called “Alice Postmortem.” After about 2 years of playing in APM and with other bands and musicians, Mike and I hooked up with another old high school friend looking to form a misfit cover band, in which Children Of Eden was formed. Out of Children Of Eden formed our booking company Eden Entertainment. Eden Entertainment books local bands and artists across Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. Currently, Children Of Eden is on a hiatus; my brother Mike is drumming and performing with the local SoCal bands Beautiful Desastres and Quid Punk Quo. As for myself, I am writing and producing Hip Hop and Funk Rock music under Kiefer Strong and the Mad Reefer.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. But after 18 years of playing music and booking shows, you learn how to navigate the waters and enjoy the obstacles. My main struggle was alcohol. Now 2 years alcohol-free, I look back at my worst days and am thankful for every obstacle I’ve been through.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Hello, my name is Kiefer Strong. I am a Musician, Writer, Event Coordinator, and Music Producer. I have been creating music for over 18 years now. I founded the Rock and roll Punk band Children Of Eden with my brother Michael. I also started the booking and promotion company for local bands called Eden Entertainment, where we book and host local music events for artists of all genres. I am working on new music for myself and other artists, with a Children Of Eden comeback rising.

What do you think about happiness?
Music makes me happy. No matter what I’m feeling, all I need to do is turn on some music or work on some music to be right where I need to be.
