Meet Kelly Bigelow of Diamond Arrow Digital Marketing in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Bigelow. Kelly and her team share her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us with some background on Kelly’s story.
Kelly Bigelow is the founder of Diamond Arrow Digital Marketing, a digital marketing and advertising agency based in Gilbert, Arizona. Believe it or not, Kelly’s passion for helping others grow started in the fitness industry. Assisting clients in making health and wellness changes for a better life gave Kelly a tremendous amount of purpose and satisfaction. Kelly’s devotion to helping clients reach their fitness goals eventually led her to become a Department Head for a major fitness organization in Arizona. After becoming Department Head, Kelly realized she desired to help others transform on a more global scale and decided to take the leap into an entirely new field; world of web design and digital marketing.

After leaving the fitness industry, Kelly began to learn how the internet worked and how business was “found” in the digital world. Kelly started working at GoDaddy, learning all the intricacies of web design and digital media. During her time at GoDaddy, Kelly spoke with many business owners who continued to renew their websites but wondered why they were not receiving any messages or being found on the internet. It was as if these business owners had elaborate billboards out in the middle of the desert. This led Kelly to believe that the mantra was not “If you build it they will come”, but “You must build it and put it in front of as many people as you can.” This notion led Kelly to her next steppingstone in the digital marketing world, Yelp.

As an Account Executive at Yelp, Kelly realized that many businesses were being outmaneuvered by their competition. Reputable businesses were often overshadowed by their competitors because they did not understand the many nuances and strategies behind a successful digital marketing campaign. Kelly spent the next 18 months at Yelp learning how search worked and how consumers were searching and finding businesses in the digital marketing era. During her first 12 months of employment, she was able to crush Yelp sales records and closed over half a million dollars in advertising sales. After 18 months of employment and helping thousands of business owners grow and stand out amongst their competition, Kelly knew there was so much more than business owners needed help with. Kelly strongly felt that Yelp was not the sole piece of the puzzle in online dominance. She knew that there were countless other digital platforms that could be utilized in running a successful digital media campaign. This revelation led Kelly to her next big move, founding Diamond Arrow Digital Marketing.

Diamond Arrow Digital Marketing was born out of Kelly’s knowledge and passion for helping business owners grow in the digital marketing era. Kelly was able to take her knowledge from her many experiences and turn that knowledge into a digital marketing powerhouse. She has been able to help countless businesses double and even triple their sales in less than six months. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Man, I wish that I can say that it has been smooth. I have made some mistakes and partnered with the wrong people who have tried to replicate my business and what I do. I’ve had a competitor write me a 1-star review three months after starting because I moved up the ranks so fast. But all in all, having the marketing skills and team behind me, we have not had a shortage in consumers finding our brand online. Our biggest struggle is keeping up with the demand from business owners looking to take their business to the next level.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have been an entrepreneur since I was a kid, at the age of five I started my first business selling lemonade to people that would to the garage sales in the neighborhood. I would set up at the entrance and sell lemonade, sodas, and water! I graduated from lemonade sales to Golf Ball sales. In the evening when the golf course that my grandparents lived on would close, I would go and look for golf balls to sell. I would clean them and then package them in bags and would go to the clubhouse and sell them to the golfers that needed balls. In between doing that, I also walked the neighborhood dog on a daily basis and started to mow lawns in the summer and then shovel snow in the winter. Being one of four siblings, my parents didn’t have tons of disposable income to give me to do the fun things or to buy toys so I always found ways to get what I wanted.
