Hi Daniel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Prior to founding Bill Simplicity, I spent over 15 years running a real estate property management business. I managed properties for many clients, some large and some small. Some of my most rewarding work was managing properties owned by seniors. Many of these people had spent a lifetime investing their time and energy into their properties.
I always enjoyed watching how, through their years of hard work, they managed to preserve an asset that rewarded them with an income in their golden years. Of course, age eventually does catch up with everyone.
Over time, I noticed that many of our senior clients had difficulty keeping track of their personal finances. On several occasions, we went beyond our usual scope of service and helped them manage their personal bills. This is what gave me the idea to start Bill Simplicity.
Bill Simplicity is a company dedicated to helping seniors manage their monthly bills. We also help give their children peace of mind, knowing that they can give their parents independence, while still maintaining a watchful eye on their monthly bills. We like to call this “looking over their shoulder from a distance”.
I founded Bill Simplicity a little over one year ago. We have spent the past year building very high quality and user-friendly software, with the hope of making our product very easy to use. We have very recently launched our product with an initial focus on the Phoenix metro market
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say the main obstacle has been a technological one. From the start, I have been adamant about not releasing our product until it was ready. I did not want our customers to experience the frustration of using a product that was not 100% ready for market.
It was sometimes difficult for me to express my vision to our software development team, but I believe we finally got the job done.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
My lessons from the Covid pandemic were twofold. Firstly, I noticed the pain of isolation for seniors. I watched as my own parents, who had lived a very active lifestyle, were trapped in their homes.
I also saw how new technologies, like Zoom and social media, enabled isolated seniors to keep connected with friends and family. This further convinced me of the need for a product like Bill Simplicity.
