Tomeko, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My oldest son just graduated high school with his A.A Degree. He’s attending ASU and I am so proud of him. Being a single mom, I’ve felt a lot of guilt raising him alone. This accomplishment just screams “we did it” but more importantly he did it, he wanted it, and he got it!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey Yall!

I’m Tomeko doing business as Evolving Goddess 444. I am a spiritual advisor & energy reader. I create my own oracle / tarot cards for the modern day woman to use as tools to learn how to trust her own intuition. My brand is all about women empowerment and self love. I am a strong advocate for learning how to use universal tools, energy snd spiritual guidance to help you live your best life this lifetime. It doesn’t just mean have fun, it also means healing the parts of you that keep you small and breaking the generational chains that no longer need to resonate with your story.

I have been every woman that I’ve coached, so there is never any judgement when it comes to advising my clients. My intent is to create a safe place where the messages from the Universe can be heard. I’ve been the woman who played it small, put herself last, people pleased across all relationships, suffered from abusive relationships, and had low standards when it came to dating (my favorite topic to talk about). I’ve gained power through healing parts of me to help me see my own worthiness and that is my goal with woman.

What’s next for me? I’m currently rebranding my business to really tap into teaching women how to thrive after healing. Healing can get real ugly, so we must celebrate and allow ourselves to learn how to thrive mentally, physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. The content will be authentic and relevant and the tools will more aligned with creating magic and manifesting new realities by tapping into higher frequencies.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Hurt breaks the bond between people and understanding restores it. We have to allow people to live in their truth, meaning their pain is valid. What brings us together is not judging one another for our stories/past, but understanding one’s story. Not all the time is it for us to agree/disagree, but understanding validates people and helps them move forward.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Don’t let the world fool you, entrepreneurship is hard, it is also rewarding and fulfilling! I never fully gave up on my business, but I’ve been burnt out, I’ve taken breaks to see if I still loved it, I’ve failed many many times, which made me question if entrepreneurship was meant for me. Fortunately and unfortunately the love I have for entrepreneurship is in my spirit, so I always come back to it.

Juggling me time, being a mom of three, running a business and working full time, you have your days where you just want to say “F it”, it’s a lot to manage at one time. I still haven’t figured out the perfect balance with juggling it all, but I am learning that there is no such thing as equal balance when it comes to all the things you’re juggling in life. You’ll need to find what balance looks like for your lifestyle, it wont always be even and that is ok. As life changes, so will what balance needs to look like in your life. I took a 3 year break from business, but it didn’t start as a break, it was more like me being done. I had to relearn all over again that before I’m a business owner, I’m a mom, and an individual outside of my other roles in life. Giving up was embarrassing at first, but you’ll find your strength and you’ll fall back in love with it/life, this time a more evolved person with wisdom to share to your audience.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My babies, character, a wealth mindset (including getting that money bag) spirituality and peace. Hustle culture is not what it’s cracked out to be although passive income is a vibe. We do what we have to do to get there, just don’t stay in the hustle. Life is meant to be lived with those you love and the journey will always bring you back to remind you of that. Every lesson that I learn is hopefully one that my kids don’t have to learn from, pay it forward. Empowerment is love, individuality is love, doing the right thing is always worth it, and you’ll find yourself by losing yourself.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
You have to know that energy is real. The things you watch, the music you listen to, the company you keep will tell you a lot about what direction you are heading to in life. You don’t always have to ride the wave of your current circumstances if you don’t like it, you can create a new reality at any point. It’s up to you to know what you want and whether or not you’re in alignment with it. Pay attention to the subtle signs, they are always showing you the unseen and are there to help you get your life’s desires.
