Suzanne Lasky of Scottsdale on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Suzanne Lasky. Check out our conversation below.

Suzanne, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up around 5:30 to walk the dog.
Then I have my morning coffee and drink 24 ounces of water before heading to the gym. I check all my email before leaving the house at 7:00. Often, I make vendor and builder phone calls in the car on the way to the gym.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My career journey began in corporate marketing, where I spent 15 rewarding years building brands and connecting with people. Eventually, I felt called to explore a new passion—interior design.

With both a B.B.A. and an M.B.A., I returned to school to study interior design and haven’t looked back. Now, with over 25 years of experience in the design world, I bring a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to every project. Through S Interior Design, I help clients across Arizona transform their homes into stylish, functional, and deeply personal spaces.

One of my greatest joys outside of design is volunteering in the pet rescue community. I’m actively involved with Home Fur Good, a no-kill animal shelter in Phoenix that’s close to my heart. I also love spending time outdoors with my husband and our dog—hiking through the stunning desert trails whenever the weather allows.

My love for animals inspired me to create the **S Interior Design Pawprint Design Service**—a specialized offering that blends luxury design with pet-friendly living. This service ensures that your furry family members are just as comfortable and considered in your home design as you are, with thoughtfully selected materials, layouts, and stylish solutions that work for everyone.

Your home should reflect every member of your family—those with paws included.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My close relationship with my older sister definitely influences how I view myself both personally and professionally. She is one of my biggest supporters, and I often use her sage insights to ‘bounce things off of.’

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I make decisions about important things by analyzing and thinking about them before the actual decision is made.
So when I do make decisions about important things in my life, I generally do not change my mind afterward.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
As I mentioned earlier, my sister is a wonderful ally and supporter in all areas of my life, both personal and professional. My sister and my husband of 32 years often provide me with ideas that are not my own. Because I deeply love and admire both of them, I listen carefully to their input.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I bring my full effort and focus to everything I do—it’s simply how I’m wired. If I’m involved in something, you can be sure I’m giving it my all. Doing anything halfway just isn’t in my nature.
