Story & Lesson Highlights with Veronika Lopez of Phoenix

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Veronika Lopez. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Veronika, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first part of my morning is all about slowing down and setting the tone for my day. I start by drinking a hot tea or iced coffee and giving myself a few quiet moments to wake up with gratitude. I spend some time journaling or planning my agenda for the day. Then comes my favorite part, I’ll cook myself and my boyfriend a delicious breakfast. I finish with a little self-care and getting ready so I feel refreshed and grounded. By the time those 90 minutes are up, I feel calm, centered, and ready for whatever the day brings.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Veronika Lopez, a Licensed Aesthetician and the owner of VL Esthetics. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 8 years, and my passion has always been Eyelash Extensions. What started as a hobby in a spare bedroom at 21 turned into my dream business. Now I work out of my own salon suite, offering not just lashes, but also facial treatments and waxing. I truly love what I do and take pride in helping my clients feel confident and beautiful.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that shaped how I see the world was when I hit a peak in my business. Making great money and chasing every opportunity. I realized that chasing success without purpose felt empty. As I grew in my faith, I shifted my focus to building real relationships with my clients and colleagues. That’s when I found true fulfillment, not in the money, but in the meaningful connections and steady foundation I built through purpose-driven work.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were definitely times I felt like giving up during slow seasons in my business. I’d start questioning everything, ‘What if no one books again?’ ‘Did they find someone better?’ Those thoughts crept in and made me doubt myself. However, through patience and prayers I found myself in the right direction. I’ve learned that everyone goes through rocky seasons, even when we think we’re exempt from them. It’s in those moments that our faith, resilience, and purpose are truly tested and strengthened.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to no matter how long it takes is that with hard work, everything will fall into place in its own time. Whether it’s growing my business or growing personally, I’ve learned that good things don’t always come quickly, but they come when you stay consistent and trust the process. Even during slow seasons or moments of doubt, I hold on to the belief that what’s meant for me will never miss me. I’m committed to that mindset every single day.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, my loyal clients would definitely miss our “therapy sessions” the most. It’s never just about lashes, it’s about the deep conversations we share during each appointment. We talk about love, family, relationships, hardships, and of course, share plenty of laughs. Those moments of connection, comfort, and real talk are what truly built the bond between us. That’s what they’d miss the most—the safe space we created together.
