We recently had the chance to connect with Salome Bazier and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Salome, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Lately, what’s been bringing me joy outside of work is spending quality time with my kids and grandbabies. Watching them laugh, grow, and just being present in their lives fills me with so much happiness. On top of that, I’m also in the middle of planning my wedding, which has been such an exciting and meaningful experience. Balancing family moments with the anticipation of my big day has truly been a source of joy for me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Salome Bazier, and I’m the owner of Finesse Nail Lounge—a beauty destination where luxury meets artistry. At Finesse, we specialize in creating an elevated self-care experience, offering everything from corrective skincare and nail artistry to body sculpting, lash enhancements, and more. What makes us unique is our commitment to not just beauty but total wellness. We’ve created a space where clients can feel pampered, confident, and cared for from head to toe. Our brand is built on a foundation of precision, creativity, and a deep passion for helping people look and feel their best. Right now, we’re expanding our services and working on introducing innovative treatments that cater to the modern client’s lifestyle, making Finesse a one-stop shop for beauty and self-care.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe what breaks the bonds between people often comes down to a lack of communication, trust, and understanding. Misunderstandings, unspoken expectations, and unresolved conflicts can create distance over time. When people stop feeling seen, heard, or valued, the connection starts to weaken. On the other hand, what restores those bonds is intentional effort—honest communication, forgiveness, and empathy. Taking the time to listen, acknowledge mistakes, and rebuild trust can heal even the deepest fractures. Small acts of kindness and consistency go a long way in mending relationships and making them stronger than before.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up—not on my business itself, but on my passion for it. When I moved to Arizona, Finesse Nail Lounge didn’t flourish the way it had in the Midwest. In the Midwest, my business thrived because I had built a strong reputation and client base over the years. Transitioning to Arizona was challenging because the beauty industry here operates differently, and I found myself navigating a new market while also encountering issues like scams and untrustworthy practices that made it harder to establish my brand. For a moment, I questioned whether continuing was worth it. But I reminded myself why I started in the first place—my passion for helping people feel beautiful and confident. I also began to see how Arizona does support the beauty industry in unique ways, encouraging innovation and creating opportunities for growth. That realization gave me the motivation to keep going and rebuild my momentum in a new environment.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the beauty industry tells itself is that success comes overnight if you’re talented enough. The reality is, it takes years of hard work, consistency, and building trust with your clients. Another lie is that clients only care about prices, not quality. In truth, people value great service, skill, and the experience you provide when you build genuine relationships. Lastly, the industry often convinces itself that professionalism and integrity are optional—when in fact, they’re the foundation for longevity. Unfortunately, in today’s climate, with so many scams and people cutting corners, it’s more important than ever for beauty professionals to hold themselves to higher standards and truly honor their craft.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I’ve learned to give everything my best—even when no one praises me or even when people are openly praying for my downfall. In this industry, and in life, there will always be voices telling you that you’re not going to make it or that you’re not enough. But I’ve built my strength from within. My passion, my work ethic, and my belief in my purpose don’t depend on validation from others. I know the seeds I plant today will grow in their season, with or without applause. The satisfaction comes from knowing I stayed true to my craft and gave my all, no matter who was watching—or hoping I’d fail.
