Margherita Riello Bell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Margherita, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One common misunderstanding about our business is that while people often love the idea of feeling healthy and strong, many are reluctant to put in the necessary work. Most individuals have high expectations for results but not always for their own commitment. Additionally, there’s a tendency for people to prefer spending money on quick fixes, such as pills or fast solutions, rather than investing in long-term health and fitness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Margherita Riello Bell, the owner of Bell Fitness, which I founded 11 years ago. Bell Fitness was born from a deep desire to help others in our community live healthier, more vibrant lives. Our focus is on supporting individuals aged 40 and older, and we take a holistic approach to health and wellness. At Bell Fitness, we believe in a client-centered approach, tailoring programs to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. I’m passionate about making a positive impact in people’s lives and guiding them toward a healthier, happier future.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My nonno Umberto “grandpa”, who owned two pharmacies in Italy and started them from scratch, taught me the most about work and dedication. My grandparents were incredibly hardworking, and I grew up watching them and my parents pursue their dreams tirelessly to provide us with a good life. They taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of hard work—lessons that continue to inspire me today.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Dear younger self, I want you to know that everything will be okay. Even when things feel uncertain or difficult, trust that you are on the right path. You have the strength and compassion to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and one day, you will help and inspire many people. Keep believing in yourself, stay resilient, and know that your efforts and kindness will lead to wonderful things. I’m proud of you.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The fitness industry is “famous” for making a bunch of false claims… Too many programs and products promise quick fixes — “drop weight fast,” “get abs in a week,” “buy this and change your life” — but they focus only on appearance.
Real, lasting change doesn’t come from a pill, a 30-day challenge, or a crash diet. It comes from building habits you can stick with: moving regularly, eating to fuel your body, sleeping well, and managing stress.
Looks fade. Trends fade. Habits last a lifetime. Less trends and more real changes.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
OVERTHINKING and SELF-DOUBT are the enemies of peace and success. They steal time, energy , and opportunities you can`t get back. Clarity doesn`t come from sitting in “what ifs”, it comes from TAKING ACTIONS.
