We’re looking forward to introducing you to Madison Cameron. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Madison, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am always wandering
—and it is the wandering that reveals a path.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I call myself a riddling sculptress of vision.
If not making forms with terracotta, I am creating scenes with analog cinema equipment.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Living in and out of hotels for years.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I recognized that all is a material to be taken into my hands and sculpted into (something).
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Clarice Lispector.
She is the mother sphinx and metaphysician in disguise.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes.
Living with such a large appetite and satisfying it all the time leaves no moment of fasting…where I may humble my organism and accentuate the introspection of that hunger.
I must spend time in the void.
It is for this reason the desert haunts me and forever will inhabit my interior with its paradox of negative space.
