Larissa Rzemienski shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Larissa, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me involves waking up early and spending the cool morning out on the patio with my pet rabbit while drinking a cup of coffee. I water the plants and watch my silly bunny’s funny little antics while enjoying the cool fresh air. Next, I wander off to hike South Mountain, and when I get home, I catch up on emails and correspondence for my business – Yoga and Counseling by Larissa. While my main business involves yoga and meditation, I also provide counseling and teach online college courses. At the end of the day, you might find me taking a yoga class or having some telehealth counseling appointments with clients. Before bed time I usually make a mug of tea and watch some funny tv show before bed.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My business name is called Yoga and Counseling by Larissa (www.yogabylarisssa.net). I have been a yoga and meditation teacher for over 10 years, and I specialize in providing private and group yoga lessons, parties, and even sound meditation in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. One area that I am currently looking to expand is in the area of corporate wellness and meditation in the Phoenix area. My real niche is being an intuitive yoga teacher who provides just the right class and right mood for the group, while also incorporating a variety of sound meditation instruments.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Honestly, probably my parents and grandparents. There was a strong work ethic that was taught within my family across many generations, and I always strived to do my best, work hard, and be passionate about all that I do. I worked very hard throughout school and college, and I am always open to new opportunities to learn and grow. Later in life, I found yoga and went through yoga training to become a teacher, and later a sound meditation teacher. Learning is definitely a lifelong process for me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear is just for things to not work out or to essentially be a failure at something. Over the years, I have been more understanding and accepting of this, and I know when it is time to adjust my processes or change course. It is better to try at something rather than to completely avoid it. I recall that when I first signed up for teacher training, I thought that I would never actually teach yoga and just wanted to learn more. By the end of the training, I knew that I must teach yoga and I was very persistent about locating my first few yoga teacher jobs.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I do like to think that I am an incredibly authentic person. Overall, I am very kind and easy going, but I also do have high expectations for myself as well. When I do provide yoga services for others, I show up as my true and authentic self, and have an overall demeanor of being very down to earth, which is what I truly am. I am very dedicated and client-centered in all that I do when providing yoga classes and services.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Being able to provide yoga classes and sessions with deeper themes and meanings. I strive to foster connection, reflection and transformation in all of the yoga classes and experiences that I teach. I put all of my energy and heart into creating meaningful themes, stories, and yoga sequences for my clients.
