Story & Lesson Highlights with Harley Hope of Phoenix

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Harley Hope. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Harley, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
This year I had the honor of working at the Arizona Renaissance Faire and it was an amazing experience . Coming from Maryland, I had only enjoyed the event as a customer. Working with the incredible artists, musicians and performers was a dream I’d had as a child. It was so fun to be able to participate and meet a new community and expand my opportunities!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
At the moment I’ve been doing a lot of reading, taking notes and organizing all of my thoughts and aspirations for a major writing project. I recently learned about the Zettelkasten system and have been implementing a physical index card and virtual filing system.

My brand has always been called ROGUERIES (the things that rogues do) and I’ve worked as an art director, jeweler and a leatherworker. I’ll be jumping back into the world of graphic design and illustration in the next few weeks and have some fun collaborations with artists and fashion designers in NYC.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
My parent and teachers always assumed that I was not good at science or math, so I didn’t focus on those subjects. In reality, I am gifted in the “out of the box” studies of Quantum Physics and Futurism. I look forward to sharing my views on these concepts in the future through visual arts and writing.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was a child, sounds, textures and light greatly affected me. I had trouble feeling comfortable and wasn’t sure why I was always on edge. After I graduated from college, I realized that I had Synesthesia and more things started the fall into place. Knowledge can truly free you so that you may be aware of future risks or discomforts. My version of Synesthesia rewires my nerves to process sound as touch, touch as sight and sight as energy.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I believe that my closest of friends (dispersed through the planet) would say that what matters the most to me would be loyalty, respect, trust and fun. One for all and all for one!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
The first half of my life I followed the path that others had laid out for me. In this year and at this time, I follow the path which the universe has laid out for me. There are opportunities wherever you go.
