Story & Lesson Highlights with Dr Kylee Austin

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr Kylee Austin. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Kylee, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People often think Mind to Body Healing is just a pelvic floor physical therapy clinic. What’s misunderstood is that M2B isn’t only about treating symptoms, it’s about restoring HOPE, function, and confidence in every patient we see. We go far beyond Kegels and checklists.

At M2B, we treat the whole person. Our team combines clinical excellence with compassion. We’re not only here to fix people, we’re here to empower them. While we’re rooted in evidence-based care, what truly sets us apart is how we listen, how we educate, and how we walk alongside our patients through some of the most vulnerable seasons of their lives.

So no, we’re not your average PT clinic. We’re a healing space, a safe haven, and a movement toward a more human-centered model of care…one pelvic floor at a time!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Dr. Kylee Austin, pelvic floor physical therapist and co-founder of Mind to Body Healing, a boutique physical therapy practice with locations in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona, specializing in pelvic health, sexual medicine, and the kind of compassionate care that actually listens.

My journey into pelvic health wasn’t textbook, it was personal. Like many of our patients, I’ve been the one searching for answers, navigating pain, and feeling dismissed. That’s what drives everything we do at M2B: we exist to bridge the gap between what the medical system offers and what real healing actually requires.

At M2B, we don’t just treat pelvic floors, we treat people. We’re known for combining clinical expertise with a deeply human, individualized approach. Our team includes physical therapists, pelvic health specialists, and support staff who are just as passionate about restoring quality of life as they are about continuing education and advocacy.

We’re also working on expanding access through pro bono services, mentorship programs for rising clinicians, and advocacy for pelvic health awareness. Because healing shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be standard.

If you’ve ever felt like something was “off” and no one was connecting the dots, that’s where we come in. And we’re just getting started.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
At Mind to Body Healing, we see it every day… what breaks bonds is disconnection. Disconnection from your body, from your story, from providers who don’t listen, and even from the people closest to you when you’re dealing with pain that’s invisible or misunderstood.

Shame, dismissal, and silence are powerful forces that isolate people. Especially in pelvic health, where symptoms are often taboo or minimized, it’s easy for someone to feel broken, alone, or like no one “gets it.”

But what restores those bonds? Being seen. Being heard. Being believed.

At M2B, healing begins when we create space for vulnerability, truth, and trust. When someone walks into our clinic and finally hears, “You’re not crazy, and this is treatable,” the restoration begins, not just physically, but relationally. We’ve seen hope restored, confidence reclaimed, and self-worth reborn through this work.

Connection is our treatment plan, connection to your body, your life, and hope.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
The moment Mind to Body Healing was born.

For years, like many of our patients, we hid the parts of our story that felt “too much”..the pelvic pain, the postpartum struggles, the shame that no one seemed willing to talk about. We showed up as professionals, but privately carried the weight of our own silent battles.

But something shifted when we realized that our pain was our superpower. That lived experience gave us an unmatched level of empathy, intuition, and fire. It helped us understand not just the physical symptoms, but the emotional toll, the loss of identity, the fear, the isolation., the loss of hope.

At M2B, we stopped hiding. We started building a clinic that says the hard things out loud, creates safety in vulnerability, and helps others feel strong in their skin again. Our pain became the blueprint for a practice that treats people, not just pelvic floors, but the whole person, with dignity and depth.

That’s the power. We use it every single day.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
At Mind to Body Healing, we’re committed to changing the way pelvic health is understood, accessed, and delivered, no matter how long it takes.

We believe every person deserves care that treats the whole human, not just the symptoms. We’re building a world where pelvic health is not whispered about in shame, dismissed by providers, or treated like an afterthought, and we’re willing to play the long game to get there.

This isn’t just about our clinics. It’s about setting a new standard, where personalized care, patient education, and provider empathy aren’t the exception but the expectation! Whether it’s training the next generation of pelvic health clinicians, expanding access through advocacy and mentorship, or helping one patient at a time reclaim their life… we’re in it for the long haul.

Because healing shouldn’t be a privilege, but the standard for all!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Absolutely! We’re not just tap dancing… we’re practically doing high kicks in the parking lot!

The day we opened the doors to Mind to Body Healing, it felt like something clicked into place that had been missing for years. Finally, a space where we could treat patients the way they deserved to be treated… without red tape, without rushing, and without compromising our values. That level of freedom and purpose? That’s the kind of thing that makes you want to dance your way into the clinic every morning!

But the real magic? It’s when a patient looks at you with tears in their eyes and says, “No one’s ever explained it to me like that before,” or when a provider we mentor has their first breakthrough moment and texts, “I finally get it!” Those moments are electric. They’re the reminder that what we’re doing isn’t just physical therapy…it’s transformation!

Of course, not every day is glitter and jazz hands, this work is hard1 But the purpose? It’s real, and that keeps the metaphorical tap shoes on our feet.
