Rising Stars: Meet Talana Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Talana Jordan.

Hi Talana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I was born and raised in Arizona, and I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Psychology. I think YouTube was a great way to mix my passion for helping people with my love of filmography. I create vlogs, lifestyle, commentary, and advice videos.

As a kid, I was always fascinated with creating movies, editing videos, and watching YouTube videos. I had made dozens of movies, edited videos, and written plays for years, but I was too nervous to actually put my work out there. When I was 16 years old, I was really struggling with my mental health in high school. I finally gained the courage to start a YouTube channel as a creative outlet. From there on, I started posting every week on my self-titled YouTube channel.

These past 5 years have been absolutely amazing. I am so lucky to be able to funnel my passion for the arts into this channel.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create videos on YouTube that cover a wide variety of topics. I always say that I cover so many different niches and topics in my videos that pretty much anyone would be able to find something they relate to. I mostly make vlogs, or commentary and advice videos now; however, I used to make skits and more comedy-based videos.

I have just over 1,600 subscribers on my channel as of November 2022. Over my time on YouTube, I have had a few videos do very well. Some people may know me from my most popular video titled, “ASU vs U of A vs NAU!! (comparing Arizona in-state colleges).” This video is just one example of the content I have made to help give advice to incoming college students.

I have also had a lifelong passion for music and singing. In the early days of my channel, I posted several covers of my favorite songs. Since then, I have been lucky enough to be featured in a song written by my friend, Rylan Holland for his album, “In The Darkest Hour.” The song was released in 2021 and is titled, “I Bled For You and You Drank It.” This is the first of many musical endeavors I plan to have.

This channel truly changed my life and introduced me to so many opportunities I never could have imagined. In 2021, I was lucky enough to work with YouTube on a video to promote getting the COVID-19 vaccine. This was a completely unforgettable moment in my career. This journey definitely increased my love for filmmaking, and I don’t know where I would be without it.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories would be of me and my brothers making movies and putting on plays for my family. I would write and direct all of our creative endeavors and they would be my costars.
