Rising Stars: Meet Shari Holder of Queen Creek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shari Holder.

Hi Shari, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Most of my early years I had always worked in a Marketing & Customer Service background only to find this career path draining as I had always been working for ‘Other’s’. Secretly I wanted to be in charge of my own self.
I was very forunate to have met a wonderful and talented Man that had the same goals I had in getting involved in flipping a home (at the time this was a HUGE thing) As my now husband was and had always worked in the construction industry and I wanting to learn more about Real Estate decided to get my licensce, while husband was going to work on finally achieving his Contractor’s Licensce. We took a few Investing courses in San Diego and to have been burned on the amount of money they continued to ask for to move forward. I DON’T SUGGEST THESE COURSES. Do your Due Diligence first. Lesson Learned thousands of dollars later.

Meanwhile after learning the cost of insurance and other requirements, he decided not to get licensce. I had acheived my California Licensce and decided to work part-time to get my feet wet in this exciting industry. Fortunately for me I had an amazing mentor who was willing to guide me through my new journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As they say, nothing great comes with a few challanges and opportunities along the way.
1st off, studying for your California Real Estate Licensce is probably the easiest part. However, when you haven’t taken a test in a very cold and quiet room where you can take ‘nothing’ in and it has to be completely silent, becomes a little nerve racking to say the least. Yes, I did the UNTHINKABLE didn’t pass my 1st test due to mostly nerves and not sleeping well the nite before. I literally stressed myself out. It’s so humiliating to tell your loved ones that your taking your test only to FAIL. I highly recommend not telling anyone the day you take your test.
Of course, I had to do it all over again when we decided to move to Arizona, 2 years following.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I personally like to believe I help young couples ‘Grow Wealth & Equity’ in their lives.
For the most part I do specialize and enjoy the most working with couples who are newely married and looking to start out their new adventures in Home Ownership. As this is something I had strived for myself in my younger years only it was after I had all my children before getting into our very own home.
The process is very scary to most, so I choose to be their for them every step of the way to make this as seamless as possible, from getting them prepared for their new loan experience with the RIGHT lender for them as well guiding and showing them the RIGHT homes for them. I will never not answer my phone or their questions promply.

Another thing I’ve been known to excel at is providing SUCCESSFUL Open Houses for my Seller’s. I thoughoughly enjoy doing them myself. (Most agents either won’t do them or prefer not to). Fourtunately for me I’ve had numerous successful transactions close with the very 1st family walking thru the door on the very 1st Open House day! (not normal at all)

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me this is when I set High Goals for myself, and actually “ACHIEVE’ said goal.
Sounds simple, but this takes daily discipline to move forward every single day towards that goal.
Basically, I will use this as a question to myself throughout the day, for example when I have choices or options that pop up, I will ask myself, which one is going to get me closer to MY Goals?
BAM 🙂
