Rising Stars: Meet Rob Lucci

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Lucci.

Hi Rob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am from Anchorage, Alaska, and moved to Phoenix in January 2022. I came here with the goal of expanding my music career. Being a Musician in such a small town opportunities are extremely limited, and I needed to move somewhere with a little more access to resources I could use. Since being in Arizona I’ve slowly become more involved with the developing, local music scene.

The artists here are from all over the globe, so the sound is rich and full of so much variety. My music kind of took off since moving, reaching even more people and connecting with audiences more than ever. I dropped my project Kiss n Tell in August of last year. A project I strived to give positive energy and allow people to feel the excitement and joy I was experiencing since moving. I am currently in the process of finishing my follow-up project entitled Babylon, which is projected for early summer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting to this point, wasn’t easy, I can’t even say it’s the end of the road or a finish line for myself yet. Music, Video Production, and Marketing, it is a full-time job and requires so much of one’s energy. I can say these past 3 years of working nonstop have shown me the positives and deep negatives that come with building a brand. I ran into many dead ends, and dealt with countless people who made promises that fell through and felt stuck creatively and spiritually.

With all of those downs, however, I found so much light to balance those out. At the same time, I came across some of my closest relationships on this journey. I met people I probably wouldn’t have otherwise if it wasn’t for music and networking and I’m entirely grateful for that. This year, 2023 I plan to go head first, and 100% effort into my brand building. I have some big goals I want to achieve, and with the team, I’ve built around me, the next level in this process feels closer than ever.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a musician from Anchorage, Alaska. I’ve been making music for a little over 2 years now and recently moved to Arizona to expand my reach, and network with a new scene. Before making music on my own, I was an A&R for many artists in the Alaska music scene, as well as a head producer at a local studio in the area. Since moving I’ve been focusing on my own craft and perfecting that. Kiss n Tell was my first solo project since moving. This project really dove into an entirely new sound for me, and honestly, it was some of the most refreshing music I’ve released to date. When asked what kind of music I make, I will always sum it up as “Slutty Brunch Music” which is basically music you can listen to while getting ready with your homegirls, and then the next day play while gossiping over brunch.

With the market being as saturated as it is currently I wanted to bring something new, and a little left field from what everyone else was doing. I know that I tend to befriend and surround myself with women more often than men. So with that being said, why not make music for them, and music we can enjoy together? Going forward I hope I can strike a diverse balance between my more vibe-centric music and more hard-hitting projects, and I hope my following project Babylon can be used to fill the hard-hitting drill void that’s there right now.
