Rising Stars: Meet Renee Lipson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Lipson.

Hi Renee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our names are Jared and Renee Lipson and we started our business out of our home in Surprise, Arizona. Metal Cuts Creations is a family-owned business that we started in 2020. We create custom metal artwork that is uniquely designed for our customers. We started our business on a small CNC plasma table and sold mostly to friends, family and co-workers. We quickly learned how much people really enjoyed our work and continued to put in additional orders for our products.

We started to outgrow our small table when we realized we couldn’t keep up with demand, so we took the plunge into a larger, more productive table that would allow us to expand our business. We got involved with our local farmer’s markets and art shows and began selling around the west valley. We have had such a positive feedback from so many people and lots of support from our customers. We really enjoy our business and love being able to put our creativity to the test and challenge ourselves to new designs and creations that our customers will love and appreciate. We put in a lot of hard work and long nights, but it is always worth it. It is amazing to be able to make other’s ideas come to life and seeing the smile on their faces!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With starting our own business, we definitely learned it is not an easy task. When we first upgraded to a larger CNC plasma table, it did not work as expected or meet our quality standards. This caused a delay in our production and put us at a standstill until we were able to purchase a new CNC plasma table that was able to produce quality cuts that met our standard. We have hit many bumps in the road and have had many learning curves but never lost sight of our goals and dreams.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Here at Metal Cuts Creations, we have a wide span of designs that we create. We deeply involve our time into them and definitely try to reflect that in our finished products. We try to set ourselves apart by making each and every one of our signs with care and quality that we take pride in and are proud to hand to our customers.

What makes you happy?
It really makes us happy to watch the reaction of our customers when they see our unique signs, especially the custom orders. People are always in the best mood when they receive their product from us. We get to meet lots of different people with different styles and many different requests and I love that we are able to help them all. We have also built relationships with many people along the way; it’s not just about the business but getting to know our community and the people within it.
