Paulina and Bri’s journey as DJs began in the early months of 2021 when they decided to team up as a duo. Although they were originally from San Diego, California, their paths didn’t cross until they both ended up in Tempe at different points in their lives. They had been friends for some time before venturing into the world of DJing together.

What set Paulina and Bri apart from other DJs was their distinct and diverse taste in music. Recognizing the potential of their combined forces, they knew they could create unforgettable dance nights in the valley by blending their unique musical preferences.

It was during one of their casual hangouts that they had an epiphany – why not curate a night that celebrated their shared love for Spanish music and culture? Thus, the idea for “Puro Pinche Party” was born. This special event would showcase the best of Latin music, from traditional rhythms to modern hits, and it is now one of the most popular Spanish dance nights in Phoenix.

With unwavering dedication and a lot of hard work, Paulina and Bri began organizing their first “Puro Pinche Party.” The event was an instant success, drawing in a diverse crowd of music enthusiasts, both Latino and non-Latino alike. People loved the energetic atmosphere and the vibrant mix of sounds that resonated with their souls, leaving them craving for more.

Now, as they approach the two-year anniversary of “Puro Pinche Party,” Paulina and Bri have become synonymous with thrilling dance nights in the Phoenix metro area. Their baby, the Spanish-themed event, has grown into an exhilarating experience that not only celebrates music but also brings people from different backgrounds together to share their love for culture and connection.

Looking back on their journey, Paulina and Bri are filled with gratitude for the support they’ve received and the love they’ve been able to spread through their music. As they continue to evolve and innovate, the dynamic duo looks forward to many more years of bringing the best dance nights to the valley and leaving their mark on the vibrant world of DJing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As friends, working together has been seamless for us. Our visions align effortlessly when it comes to the direction and decisions regarding our dance nights. However, as newer DJs in the scene, we’ve faced challenges. From DJing at a small empty bar to managing a two-hour wait in line to get inside, we’ve experienced it all. Despite the obstacles, we find joy in what we do and remain committed to continuous improvement and learning.- Paulina

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are Spin Lizzy, aka Paulina, and Bruiser, aka Bri. Originally hailing from San Diego/Visalia, California, Spin Lizzy ventured to Tempe, Arizona, in 2014 to embark on a new chapter. Since 2017, Spin Lizzy has been captivating audiences across the Phoenix metro area with her open format DJ sets, holding multiple residencies and curating unforgettable themed dance nights. Her specialty lies in creating magical atmospheres for Spanish nights, setting her apart from others in the industry.

On the other hand, Bruiser, born from the synergy of San Diego and Tempe, brings a captivating fusion of musical passions and a distinct taste for nostalgia. With a diverse palette ranging from Dad Rock to Grandad Rock and mid-century songs that convey heartbreak and the desert’s haunting allure, Bruiser’s musical expertise is intriguing and sets her apart.

What we are most proud of is our seamless collaboration as friends, making it easy to work together and see eye to eye on the direction and decisions for our dance nights. While we are newer DJs in the scene, we’ve faced challenges, from DJing at small bars to managing long lines to get inside our events. However, we always enjoy what we do and continuously strive to be better and learn. Our passion, dedication, and ability to create unique and engaging experiences for our audience are what make us stand out in the DJing world.

Any big plans?
Our plans for the future are incredibly exciting! Our ultimate goal is to turn our passion for DJing into a full-time endeavor. We envision expanding our reach beyond bars to cover a wide range of events, including private events, weddings, festivals, and more. We are in discussions with other friends to create an all-inclusive experience for everyone, offering customized drinks, photography services, and tailored music to match the vibe of each event.
