Rising Stars: Meet Michelle Londyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Londyn.

Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey as a musician and content creator began in my childhood years. I started taking piano lessons at age 7, and throughout my youngest years, my mother spent countless hours making art projects with me and sharing her own creative process. While I didn’t know it yet, those creative experiences as a child planted the seeds for my current career path. As a young adult, I chose to study English and music for my bachelor’s, and then completed two advanced music degrees in piano performance. Despite being immersed in the classical music world in my full-time job, I felt like I had little to add to the profession as a whole. I felt it had all been done—what could I possibly contribute?

So, while still working my full-time job, I began my content creation journey with a YouTube channel and an Instagram page, sharing my longtime love for beauty and fashion. With each new post and video, I began to find new facets of my creative voice, which in turn also changed the way I view my music career. Today, as both a pianist and digital content creator, it is my hope that my writing, photos, and videos help others see more beauty in the world, whether it is in themselves, in others, or in the world around them. I’m very excited to see where the rest of this journey leads!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think everyone has struggles!

My biggest struggles were with self-doubt: Did I really have what it takes to fulfill my dreams? It’s something I honestly still struggle with because I still have many dreams and goals to fulfill! But in looking back on my journey so far, I know that every choice I’ve made, and every risk I’ve taken, has led me down the right path for me. I’m super proud of everything I’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what else this journey has in store!

I’m very proud of my YouTube channel, which features in-depth beauty tutorials and reviews. My Beauty Basics series in particular has resonated with a lot of viewers, and I have several more videos in the works for this series. On my Instagram page, I feature hidden travel gems, and it is my hope that these posts help my audience find new and exciting spots to explore.

I’m still deciding what I want my music career to look like going forward, so stay tuned for updates!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t believe in luck, per se, but I do believe in making choices that can set you up to be in the right place at the right time. This has certainly been true in my music career. After lots of hard work, networking, and a sprinkle of the right timing, I achieved a music position in Arizona, which brought me out west. (I spent my life on the east coast prior to that.)

That led me to fall in love with the west coast, and eventually to my content creation journey. So, each choice I’ve made has led to my work today, and—perhaps with a bit more of that “right-place-right-time” luck—that path will keep opening up to more opportunities and dreams fulfilled.
