Rising Stars: Meet Lindsy Posz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsy Posz.

Hi Lindsy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Prior to tattooing, I was a full-time stay at home mom. I missed my art, connection & felt hungry for so much more than serving my family. I started tattooing at the start of the pandemic & somehow managed to cultivate an incredibly loyal clientele, double my following, hire an assistant, homeschool my goblins & continue to board/foster dogs out of our home. *beer me*

Never really had a big phat grand plan for my life. Not for a lack of dreaming, but my dreams have always been so much bigger than myself. However, I’ve always known I have a gift for connecting w & loving others & allowing people to feel welcome exactly as they are. Tattooing was my “ah ha” moment where I could transmute my love for people & their stories into literal flesh art. Ain’t that some shit? Kinda just goes to show that happiness isn’t even close to a physical destination.

I’m so grateful for my time here & for the trust & kindness, I’ve been gifted in this industry. I hope I can continue to hug each client that walks through my door & leave them better than I found them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ah man–I have so many answers for that. I started my apprenticeship in February of 2020…one month prior to our statewide lockdown. It was humbling, to say the least, learning how to transition into a full-time working mom, gain momentum and clientele during a period where physical touch with those outside of your home was discouraged while simultaneously homeschooling my daughters. At first, it started with booking a client or two a week and wondering if I’d always have to be on the wishful side of booking up, to running out of hours in the day to respond to booking inquiries. Slowly but surely, my client base blossomed from friends, family and referrals, to people I have never met before who just admire my work. I’m like… you?…think I’m….talented?! Haha.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a tattoo artist, professional meat suit decorator, a flesh doodle connoisseur if you will. I would say I specialize in fineline work and intentional concepts. I find the tattoo process extremely intimate, so I enjoy taking the time to get to know my clients and their stories, so I can bring the most authentic, raw versions of both them and myself into the experience and the art we create together. I’m grateful for the ability to monetize my talents, but to be honest, I didn’t get into this to satisfy a financial need. I was gifted this opportunity to use my art as a way to deeply connect with others and love as many people as I can along the journey.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
You don’t have to learn from people who are just like you. There’s value in everything if you cherry pick what you need from the lesson. Don’t conform to what’s popular or trendy—real is real. And when you love what you do, try your best and have no attachment to or expectation of the outcome, abundance will always follow. Humility and flow are key.
