Rising Stars: Meet Lindsay Randall of Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Randall.

Hi Lindsay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Lindsay Randall. I was a Dental Assistant for 14 years and was married for 7 years to the love of my life. We had a beautiful little girl in 2016; my husband tragically passed away in 2020. As you can imagine, my life was turned upside down, and I became a single mom who needed to provide for her child. So, I decided to make a career change into the world of Permanent Makeup Artistry. Beauty Lines by Lindsay became my life and brand. I am a licensed, certified, and insured permanent cosmetic tattoo artist. I got my certification through Brooke Mills with Lure Permanent Cosmetics, along with a second certification with Brows by Cody Lynn. I am also certified in Lash Lift and Brow Lamination and Tinting through MaiLash & Brows Academy and in Teeth Whitening through Pristine Teeth Whitening Academy. I am certified in all proper sterilization, HIV, and blood-borne pathogens, meeting the OSHA and CDC requirements.

We are still determining what the future holds. I had my plans, and those plans changed. After my husband left us, I had to choose who to be again. He is with me every day, and I enjoy making my clients smile! I am passionate about my work and pay great attention to detail. I loved assisting in creating smiles when I was a dental assistant, and now, I love enhancing my clients’ beauty by highlighting their greatest features and ending each appointment with an “Ooh La La!”

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road by any means. Starting a business independently was hard, and it continues to be. Not knowing how much income you will have each month is very scary, especially as a single mother trying to survive losing a spouse who was our sole provider and now having to run a business and be there for my daughter. But I continue to grow as a person, mother, and businesswoman every day! Every day is a challenge, but that keeps me on my toes to where I never get bored! I strive for perfection in what I do and continue to learn every day!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So what I am is a permanent makeup artist. I enhance people’s looks to make them feel better about themselves. I tattoo eyebrows with 3 different techniques: microblading, powder brows, and a combination—I tattoo eyeliner, one of my favorite services. I offer upper and lower lash line enhancement eyeliner, winged/wedge, and my favorite, velvet edge, which gives you a smoky eye look! Another service I provide is lip blushing, which accentuates your natural lip color to give you a bit of a pop! And with these services, I also provide lash lift & tint, which is a perm of the lashes, brow lamination, to tame those eyebrows and shape them, and teeth whitening! I am proud of how far I’ve come since starting my business a year ago. With each client I see, I get better and better and love the results I provide! What sets me apart is that I am passionate, honest, personable, and genuinely care for my clients. And I also feel like that is what I am known for.

Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
Well, how I got into the world of permanent makeup was the dental office I used to work for. His wife is also a permanent makeup artist, and when I lost my husband, she reached out to me and told me that she thinks I should get into her field of work because of my chairside manner, attention to detail, and great work ethic. And so that is just what I did! So she knew someone who taught the courses I needed to do what I do! I also have another friend, a great mentor, whom I met through the above person, and we are great friends and lean on each other for advice. In this industry, getting your name out there is very saturated and hard. But we have to confide in each other and help each other to be successful! I have yet to do any marketing, but I would love to! Everything has been word of mouth for me at this point.
