Rising Stars: Meet Kyla Dunn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyla Dunn.

Hi Kyla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for health and wellness but more specifically mental health.

I earned my bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as my health and life coaching certification last May! I knew that I wanted to start my own business rather than work under someone because there was no job that was doing exactly what I wanted to be doing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting my own business has been much easier and much harder than I had anticipated.

It has been easy in the fact that I love what I am doing and I feel like I am not “going to work”. With that being said, it has been hard to navigate being my own boss and holding myself accountable—I have already gotten so much better at this thankfully.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wanted to create a brand that could relate to young females in their teens and early twenties, visually as well as in a deeper more meaningful way. I am a health and life coach for young women in their teens and early twenties. I am passionate about helping young women break free from anxiety and live their lives to their full potential—hence, the name, MoodytoGroovy.

My favorite topics are all things women’s health, neuroplasticity, homeopathic healing, and manifestation. I am most proud of helping prepare high school students for the challenges that college may bring them as this is something I wish I had before I went to college. I’ve helped lots of girls prepare for sorority recruitment as well which I think is so important if you have no idea what you’re going into.

Moodytogroovy is different from other health and life coaching businesses because it is highly focused on the brand itself. I am in the process of creating merchandise and products that represent the brand. I also have the intention of starting a podcast, writing books, planning retreats, and hiring a team.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think that luck has played a role in my business thus far. However, I would say that manifesting has been a game-changer for me!
