Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerri Barnes.
Hi Kerri , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started collecting crystals in 2016. I participated in a vending event in the summer of 2017 and it was so successful, I decided to try and start a business. I really focused my mission on high-quality crystals at reasonable prices. I have extensive customer service in my work experience and I wanted excellent customer service to be a trademark of my business. I focus on my customer’s needs and have been a personal shopper on more than one occasion for those that require special attention or have specific items they want.
In June 2018, I got my LLC and started operating as Crystal Intuition Az. I have online presence on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. In December 2020, I launched my own website: crystalintuitionaz.com. I primarily run my business, however, I have had strong support from my family and dear friends who help me with making products and in-person vending events. I have expanded my products to include homemade spell kits, incense, oils, pendulums, sterling silver jewelry, and other items over the years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think the challenge has always been to remain relevant. I want to keep items in stock that are customer favorites and still add newer items to keep fresh and interesting stock. Some items are hit or miss and you learn along the way.
Building relationships is critical. Especially when you want to get into certain vending events. It’s best to maintain a friendly and professional attitude and not take any rejection personally.. The market for crystals is saturated and you need to make yourself and your business stand out,
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My background is in Criminal Justice and workforce development. I have a Master of Organizational Leadership and many nationally recognized credentials in my field. My full-time job is focused on that. My crystal side business is more focused on helping people manifest the right energy in their lives. My returning customers are like family to me. I really try to engage with all of my customers so it’s not just a business transaction between us, it’s fun interaction and good conversation.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say perseverance and a positive attitude. Relationships are key in business and maintaining them is critical.
