Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Angerami.
Hi Kathy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from Chicago, I moved to Arizona in January 2000 to enjoy the sun, much better weather and start a whole new adventure. I love the constant beautiful weather and scenery in Arizona and enjoy hiking, being in nature, yoga, working out and spending quality time with my family.
Shortly after getting married, raising my boys and enjoying my late 30s, I started noticing gravity and shifting happening in my facial features, especially my eyelids; they were drooping.
I had always been in the beauty and spa industry and enjoy taking care of my skin, trying new products and staying up to date on whatever new out there. Botox did not work for me and was no longer an option, and with saggy eye lids, all I knew that could help was surgery. It was then, March 2019, when I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw Plasma Pen Fibroblast skin tightening featured on the news. They were showing eyelids and I realized I had another option now.
I researched non-stop learning about the science and discovered this technology had been around the UK and Germany since 2009 with proven, phenomenal results that lasted!! After months of looking around locally, I found a nearby medspa in August 2019 that offered Louise Walsh Plasma Pen skin tightening. I went and got the procedure done on my glabella and eyelids, and was just thrilled with my results in less than one week!
I seriously thought it was the coolest thing. This led to a little more obsessing because not only does this new product in the United States work, I can see it’s addicting too!
After extensive research and persistence with Louise Walsh and their amazing staff, I was fortunate enough to not only meet but train with one of the biggest names in global beauty for three decades-Louise Walsh, the inventor of the Plasma Pen and the technology around it. I also trained hands-on with their Master Global Trainer and eventually trained again as a Master Tech.
Pleasantly Plasma was born on September 30, 2019, with the hopes of following my passion of not only just helping others, but helping other look better, and feel better about themselves. We are all our worst critics and when you feel good about yourself, it shows. When you look good, you feel good.
I provide my Plasma Pen skin tightening in my private-relaxed salon suite offering much more affordable prices than my competition because quite frankly, I love what I do and it’s extremely rewarding already.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting started with a brand new business and technology was a little nerve-wracking, to say the least. A colleague of mine had said, “We need to fake it til we make it” and though I laughed, I realized there was some truth to this.
It’s kind of like “Dress for the position you want, not the position you have”. I started reaching out to friends and family looking for models, practiced practiced practiced, and watched YouTube videos on opening up a business, a salon suite, and how to start an Instagram Business successfully.
Patience and time led me to where I am now as we will celebrate our three-year anniversary this September. I’m so grateful to my clients, for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to help them feel better about themselves.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Yes, absolutely. I offer in-person or zoom consultations to meet my client, explain the procedure and understand my clients concerns or wants. At this time we figure out a plan and a future date to do the produced as Plasma Pen does have a few days of ‘social downtime’. Before the procedure clients are numbed with a topical cream to keep them comfortable. During the Plasma Pen procedure, a tiny plasma flash (electrical arc) is discharged from the tip of the plasma pen handpiece. The tip of the pen is held above the loose or wrinkly skin and the plasma arc connects the tip of the device to the surface of the skin. A series of tiny dots are strategically placed on the targeted area and the skin tightens and shrinks instantly, pulling the cells closer together, causing minor trauma to the area while also stimulating new collagen. Clients choose plasma pen treatment because it is an affordable, effective, and reliable way to rejuvenate new cell turnover.
The plasma pen can be used anywhere on the body and is the most popular for upper or lower eyes, crow’s feet, forehead lines, nasolabial folds, lipstick lines, necklines and stretch marks, marionette lines, or anywhere you have look wrinkly skin. I’ve done knees, elbows, tummy’s and even the skin in-front of the ears.
I think my success relies on the personal time, bonding, and unique treatment I give my clients. I truly love what I do, and I hope it shows. I like to include extras complimentary, zapping off skin tags or petty little sun spots. Also every client receives a fun gift bag at the end of treatment as well as their post serum and sunblock samples.
I listen and work with my clients, trying to get the improvement they desire and also check in with them after their procedure, usually the next day or two along with the following week or two as well.
