Rising Stars: Meet Ines Silva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ines Silva.

Hi Ines, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
ISART DESIGN – Clothes 100% Handmade without a machine.

This adventure was officially born in 2010, more than a brand it is a powerful dream. We decided that we would make clothes, without knowing how, but that we would succeed and we started to explore and share our art in small events and then traveled to participate in big festivals. One of our dreams has always been for people to be able to use art, and for it to be part of their lives, this way our exotic, bohemian, and irreverent style is completely inserted in each design. We believe that we stand out for the difference and that our customers fall madly in love with one of our treasures and have to buy it, they cannot resist.

One of our mottos is: sharing art around the world and today we have clients from all over the world. And it’s an honor that other people find their essence in our work, and that we know that our message is getting through. A few years ago we never thought we’d gotten where we are today, but looking back, we really believed in ourselves and worked hard for it, and those are the main ingredients.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been years of a lot of struggle and hard work, we know those words well. It has been difficult to be part of the people who never give up. We defend and believe in Slow fashion, with love we create each outfit with only 4 hands and without a machine, which becomes very challenging to meet deadlines, and do 1001 more things at the same time, such as: living, creating orders, managing social networks, events, customer support, and others. Every day should have at least 48 hours around here.

On this side, we’ve already created many pieces without seeing the light of day, we’ve already cried with tiredness, we’ve had our hands burning, we’ve slept a few hours and returned to the fight, we’ve run away from the rain to protect our pieces, we’ve met many people with competitive energy, we’ve traveled a lot with the house behind us… but when we look at all this crazy walk we can only smile. We always say: this is not just a brand, it’s a story. It is our history, which has made us get up every day and which is the thing that makes us most proud today. We can only thank you for having received this gift.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We consider ourselves to be a very special handmade brand because, in each outfit and detail, there is a bit of our soul. Every person who buys a piece from us can be sure that it is full of love. We are self-taught without any course, and our taste for festivals made us explore and experiment with creating fusion clothes: leather, semi-precious stones, and fabrics join us to show that fashion is a world of possibilities, where everything is possible.

We create each adjustable outfit because we are all unique and different, and we completely avoid trends and minimalism, as we want each person to adapt our style to their own, creating another magical fusion. We are proud of our path, and modernizing and we will continue to maintain the manual and traditional techniques of our ancestors, and that is one of the main objectives of our brand: the feeling, the touch, and the history. Because that’s what we’re made of. When we hear: this piece is from ISART, and is known for our own style makes our day shine brighter.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
We started from zero full of will and energy, and with hope for what was to come, so everything we do always depended on us and we had to learn everything ourselves: marketing, websites, social networks, advertising, photos, and videos.

Today we already have some knowledge in different areas because the brand made us look and research for this to evolve. We think this is what a creator is, a person who multiplies himself and looks for ways to make his dream come true, despite all the consequences. And the secret to success is to love what we do.
