Rising Stars: Meet Garrett Sidler of Surprise AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Garrett Sidler.

Hi Garrett, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Having started as a realtor in the Phoenix Metro area in 2020, I quickly learned the importance of quality property photos. Initially lacking the budget for professional photography, I taught myself the craft through online tutorials, using a basic camera to capture my own listing images.

Interestingly, other agents began to inquire about my photos, impressed by their quality. This sparked an idea, and after four years in real estate, I recognized an opportunity to combine my industry knowledge with my passion for photography. I understood firsthand what realtors needed and envisioned a successful real estate photography business.

Driven by a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit, I launched my photography business(Copper Canyon Real Estate Photography) in January 2025. I immediately focused on outreach, contacting a significant number of agents daily with offers of free or discounted introductory photoshoots. This proactive approach quickly led to a client base of over 120 agents, and I’m proud that my business has now become a well-regarded name in luxury real estate photography within the Valley.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a photography business has presented some interesting challenges, particularly in determining the optimal pricing strategy to ensure both fairness and competitiveness. While navigating typical business hurdles can be demanding, I’ve found that prioritizing exceptional customer service, punctuality for appointments, and clear communication with clients throughout the entire process effectively mitigates many of the major difficulties that other photographers often encounter.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Copper Canyon Real Estate Photography, we specialize in high-quality real estate photography that helps agents, brokers, and property owners present their listings in the best possible light. Our work includes interior and exterior photography, drone/aerial shots, twilight photography, and virtual tours—each tailored to showcase a property’s unique features and attract the right buyers.

What we’re known for is our attention to detail, quick turnaround times, and the ability to consistently capture a property’s character in a way that feels both authentic and aspirational. Our clients often tell us that our images help their listings stand out in crowded markets and lead to faster sales or higher offers, which is something we take great pride in.

What sets us apart is not just the technical quality of our work, but the experience we offer from start to finish. We understand the fast pace of the real estate industry, so we focus on clear communication, flexibility, and delivering results that exceed expectations—every time. We also stay ahead of the curve with up-to-date equipment and creative approaches that bring properties to life visually.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built with our clients. Whether it’s a modest starter home or a luxury estate, we treat every project with the same level of professionalism and care. Seeing our work help someone sell a home—or find the perfect one—is what makes this job truly rewarding.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’ve found that three of the most valuable resources for my Real Estate Photography business have been YouTube tutorials, reviewing online real estate listings and social media content. This has allowed me to stay informed about current trends and adapt my services and style to align with what other agents are seeking.

Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in our industry is crucial, as things are constantly evolving.
