Today we’d like to introduce you to Evo Terra.
Hi Evo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I went from the farm to audio, automotive aftermarket, advertising, and back to audio and managed to travel worldwide and live abroad for a few years.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
My biggest struggle has been the semi-annual identity crisis. Not much of a “road.” More like skiing down a mountain, switching between marked trails and the trees, never quite knowing what was around the bend—only that I couldn’t go back. But I’ve turned that to my advantage, as I’ve found that asking, “what the heck am I doing?” is a good way to ask, “is this what I want to be doing?” which helps me know when to make a change.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in podcasting and have for the better part of 20 years. I had the 40th podcast ever way back in 2004. I wrote the book on podcasting—Podcasting for Dummies—and have been inducted into the Podcast Hall of Fame. I produce a variety of podcasts for companies and organizations around the world. I’m a frequent speaker at podcasting conferences and want to improve podcasting.
Alright, before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
I help organize the PHX Podcast Club (PHXPodcast.club), a monthly informal gathering/mixer of local podcasters, the podcast curious, and a few listeners. We meet from 6–8p every third Thursday of the month! I’d love any podcasters or anyone interested in podcasting to meet up with us—more info at the site.
