Today we’d like to introduce you to Ernesto Casas.
Hi Ernesto, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My passion for hair was ignited at a young age, around 15, and has been burning brighter ever since. Growing up in a large family, regular haircuts were a luxury, but I was determined to take control of my own style. I asked my mother to invest in clippers, and I began cutting my own hair, soon progressing to styling friends and family. What started in our garage evolved into a pursuit of formal education, and I’m now eager to launch a mobile haircutting service, Catch a Fade on the Go. My goal is to bring joy and empowerment to others, particularly seniors in nursing homes, by providing them with rejuvenating haircuts and a sense of community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout my journey, I have undergone a profound transformation, driven by unwavering perseverance and unrelenting determination. Pursuing education has been an investment in my future; I worked a full-time construction job, commencing at 4 AM, followed by school. Upon arriving home at approximately 6 PM, I would undertake one or two haircuts per day from my garage. Balancing academic and entrepreneurial pursuits was undoubtedly a struggle. Nevertheless, I successfully established a thriving business from inception, and I am confident that the knowledge acquired will yield enduring benefits. I firmly believe that the outcome will justify the effort, and I am passionate about my profession, which has been a catalyst for growth and self-discovery.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m deeply passionate about my haircuts, as they represent a transformative experience that extends far beyond a simple trim. For my clients, a visit to my chair is a chance to unlock a renewed sense of confidence and self-assurance. I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals prepare for job interviews, offering complimentary haircuts to those in need, and providing a safe space for people to share their stories and emotions. My business is more than just a profession – it’s a calling that allows me to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. I take great joy in witnessing children grow and evolve over time, and I’m committed to fostering an environment that is at once welcoming, comforting, and empowering.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I would like to encourage all young men to develop a passion for haircuts and barbering, and to pursue this field without hesitation. It is a highly rewarding career. My future goal is to establish a barber school for low-income families, providing an opportunity for kids to channel their passion into a productive endeavor.
