Today we’d like to introduce you to Edmund Galabe.
Hi Edmund, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was inspired to create the brand when I couldn’t find quality, modern clothing that represented African culture, and heritage pride. It was a light bulb moment that I needed to fill this void. I drew my inspiration from my childhood growing up in Africa. All the beautiful things about Africa; culture, diversity, food, music, fabric, values.
While I have experienced growth and attracted customers worldwide, I still believe there’s plenty of room to further brand awareness and growth. Consistency in branding and messaging across all channels will be crucial for solidifying the brand identity and standing out in the market.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I faced challenges in raising funds, learning about the fashion industry, and building brand awareness. To overcome these challenges, I utilized personal savings, sought financial support from family members, took out business loans, conducted extensive online research, and hired professional fashion designers.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am sofware consultant for Oracle Coperation. I do love what I do. I work in the health care space developing and deploying software that runs in hospitals. It is a rewarding experience bringing positive change in this space.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I speak 5 languages.
