Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Medina
Hi Diane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
During the pandemic, I got pregnant and had to stop working. However, I felt the need to show my child that, aside from being with him, I could continue to grow personally, so I decided to start my own business. I chose charcuterie because it was a very important part of my life, especially during the pandemic when we couldn’t go out much and gatherings with friends began to happen over Zoom. I’ve always said that food brings people together.
My passion for charcuteries is a beautiful way to connect with my family and friends while also nurturing my personal growth as an entrepreneur. Charcuterie boards are not just about food; they represent creativity and care in their presentation. By curating unique combinations of meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts, I create an experience that encourages sharing and togetherness. This is a wonderful way to engage with my kids, teaching them about flavors and textures while fostering a love for cooking.
By pursuing this passion, I am not only enriching my own life but also setting an example for my child about following your interests and passions. It’s a way to create lasting memories and traditions as a family, celebrating both everyday moments and special occasions.
Now, I have two kids, I’m back in school, planning to expand my business, I couldn’t be happier with the direction my life is taking.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certainly not, starting a business can indeed be financially risky, and when you add the costs of education and family expenses, it can be stressful. Balancing entrepreneurship, being a stay-at-home mom, and attending school is quite challenging yet rewarding journey.
Managing multiple responsibilities requires careful planning. I often have to prioritize tasks, sometimes sacrificing personal time. The demands of parenting can be exhausting, and juggling everything can lead to burnout if I’m not careful. It’s easy to overlook my own needs when I have so much on my plate, making self-care essential yet often neglected.
Finding support from my husband, family, and friends is crucial, as managing everything alone can be tough. Despite these challenges, I find the experience rewarding. With careful planning, flexibility, and my husband’s support, it’s possible to thrive in all three roles. Celebrating small victories along the way helps me maintain motivation and joy in this journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have been in the healthcare field for over 10 years, and in June, I will complete my degree in Healthcare Administration. This industry has provided me with the essential skills to start my own business. I’ve leveraged that experience to balance my career, run a small business, and manage my life with kids, which has been one of the most challenging periods of my life. Although it hasn’t been easy, my desire to teach my kids motivates me to become a better person, mom, and wife. I want to show all women that the word “impossible” can be redefined as “I’m possible.”
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love going to Yoga! Yoga has helped me to relax and reduce my stress while makes me alleviate tension and discomfort. it contribute to a more positive of my mental state during this process.
