Rising Stars: Meet Depollock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Depollock.

Hi Depollock, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It was a really tough childhood but listening to music was a really good escape. I got lost in music and could get away from everything. I listen to music all the time. Literally. I didn’t have a lot of friends growing up and just kept to myself a lot. I first started a couple of years ago after I saw Kanye get on stage and seeing the fans go crazy. I got goosebumps and wanted to have that same feeling he did. I wanted to make music that I wanted to hear. I knew that with the right mindset, effort and energy I could do anything I want. I believe in myself. I believe in the law of attraction. I believe I’m being guided and go where the wind goes, so to speak.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No. I’m bipolar so it’s been rough to say the least. The lows get really dark and tense. It’s hard to want to live a lot, but doing music and art is the only thing that is keeping me alive to be honest with you. I’m not doing it because I want to, I’m doing it because I have to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a musician. But there’s a lot of other stuff that I do and work on. Right now I’m focusing in on music. I’m also working on some TikTok stuff in terms of comedy and other content. I do everything honestly. I’m most proud of committing to music and pushing through doubts and just putting it out there. I’m proud of myself for just going for it and continuing. It’s hard to take the first step but it’s so worth it.
