Rising Stars: Meet David Pope of North Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Pope.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Western Canada and I was a hockey player my entire life before becoming a chiropractor. When I was 13 years old, I started getting, what I now know to be, whiplash concussions. Year after year I kept receiving these injuries, through junior hockey, college hockey and then in my professional career, when I signed with the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. At that time, I was just trying to get through practices and games without being injured. Unfortunately, hockey is not a sport that is short of physicality, and so I had to medically retire at the age of 25. Throughout the years I had seen every chiropractor, neurologist, naturopathic doctor, medical doctor, physical therapist and not a single one was able to truly find the problem that was creating these symptoms I had over all the years. Once I retired, I finally found a chiropractor unlike any other who found the problem. It was not a short journey, as it took months of extensive treatment to retrain my bodies nervous system. But finally, I had my life back. It is this personal story that motivated me to become a doctor and help many others, as this doctor had done for me. After practicing in Denver, I decided I wanted to open up my own clinic in Scottsdale, where I can treat every patient in a unique manor, that is specific for what their problem is. It is this approach that has allowed us to be a very successful health clinic in such a short time. We’ve helped hundreds take control of their life again, and we’re very excited to continue to make our community a healthier place.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle for me was moving to a new city where my fiancé and I did not know anyone. We’re constantly trying to get out in our community more to help more people become healthy. We do not want our approach and treatment protocols to be the best kept secret. Everyone needs to understand the natural healing power chiropractic care has.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Chiropractic clinic: we treat tons of upper cervical/neurological conditions, sporting injuries, low back pain, headaches, digestive problems etc. The nervous system controls everything so every condition can be impacted by chiropractic care.

Services: Spinal and Extremity joint adjusting, non-surgical spinal decompression therapy, Low level laser therapy.

Most proud of finding a new passion (moving on from hockey and being resilient enough to pursue something large scale) and helping so many others. Most fulfilling job there is.

what sets us apart is how much we care. Given my personal experience, I make it my life’s mission to get people healthy as fast as we possibly can

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Chiropractic is more than just pain and aches. It’s about restoring the bodies connection with the brain. Through chiropractic care, we allow the body to heal and work efficiently as it was designed to. The stresses we endure throughout life takes a toll on how well our nervous system functions. Increased stress leads to increased neurological dysfunction, which creates a much higher risk to develop injuries and illness. So, anybody who has any form of stress can benefit from chiropractic care. We’ve treated as young as 3 day old babies and as old as 93.
