Today we’d like to introduce you to Darien Pruitt.
Hi Darien, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began in the corporate world 30 years ago. With no education, I worked my way up the corporate ladder to establish myself in business and achieved that by becoming a senior sales director in electrical construction. Very few women are in my industry, none in my particular role. Like many people in 2020, I had major life events that caused me to reevaluate how I spent my time and life. In May of 2022, I resigned from my corporate position, and in August of 2022, I began my yoga teacher training. In December of 2022, I graduated from training and launched my business, the Mobile Yogi & Boutique.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Leaving my steady paycheck was terrifying, and every day of being an entrepreneur is like a roller coaster; however, I love it. Anything new will have its bumps, and this venture is no exception. Some of the struggles have been related to getting the word out about yoga, its benefits, and connecting with consistent students.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I’m here to help you glow from the inside/out! I specialize in corporate wellness, events, etc. Still, I’m becoming well-known in the market circuit because I also have an online lifestyle clothing brand I frequently market that pairs perfectly with yoga. What sets me apart from others is that I can help you customize the ideal wellness program, event, class, etc., because I have a business and leadership background. I organized small and large events in my corporate life, so I knew what it took to give my clients/students an optimal experience. I’m proud of the retreats I have hosted recently!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I just became a spray tan artist to help with that glow and have a studio at Simply Ravishing – The Salon! It’s another one of my passions and a great addition to my mission.
