Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Bronnenberg.
Hi Daniel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We are the Arizona Phoenixes, the country’s first 18 and older competitive trampoline and tumbling team. We started because of a lack of opportunity for athletes after high school to continue their athletic careers in our sport. We are also a business as we fundraise for our competition expenses by putting on clinics, competitions, and more for the younger athletes in the state.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a smooth struggle so far. This for us is something we are very passionate about so we all work hard together to overcome anything that comes our way. Our biggest challenge now is to help others create teams around the country so that athletes around the country can have more options and opportunity to continue in the sport we love past high school.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are in the business of creating opportunities for trampoline and tumbling athletes post-high school. But what we are most proud of is that it does not matter what level any of our athletes are. Whether it’s your first day trying a forward roll or you are a previous or aspiring national team member, everyone is welcome. We work together, support each other, and celebrate each other’s progress no matter what level everyone is.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
The entire AZ trampoline and tumbling community is amazing! Especially for kids, there are gyms from Surprise and Peoria all the way to Queen Creek and Tucson. They have supported us and opened their doors to us to train and grow while offering amazing programs for kids to learn competitive trampoline and tumbling and take their sport as far as they want to go.
