Rising Stars: Meet Allante Colvin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allante Colvin.

Allante, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey, what’s going on! My name is Allante (like the Cadillac Allantè 94’) but people refer to me as Chef Lavish as well considering the name that circulates with my Private Chef/ Catering business (Chef Lavish Catering Llc). I’m a private Chef and caterer located in Phoenix, Arizona but born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

I’m an experienced self-taught Chef with an extensive resume working in the restaurant/food industry with some food management experience. I’ve been fortunate enough to serve some celebrities/athletes. When it comes to Catering and being a Private Chef I believe a person has to be a complete lover of food (an absolute FOODIE)!

My passion for food stems from having a big family and always having big family functions for birthdays, major holidays, etc. everyone gathered in one place to bring a variety of family signature dishes all to one table for the benefit of amazing food, fun, and fellowship… and somehow id always find myself asking to assist with any prep not knowing I was prepping for my future of being a Chef!

For four years now, I’ve been growing as an entrepreneur in business serving the people great food with excellent customer service/hospitality and genuine vibes. I must say I LOVE what I do, simply put “food is thy medicine, medicine is thy food” and there’s nothing like bringing people together through quality food and hospitality!

That “OMG THIS IS SOOO GOOD!” Response, after someone has my food, is like music to my ears, definitely fills me with one of those warm feelings you know! Really my only mission is to serve people what they want and that’s quality food packed with flavor and filled with love!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all, to say the least, no entrepreneurial path is, but you have to stay grounded and consistent and persistent. What people don’t know is I battle with Type 2 diabetes which is a daily battle within itself.

Sometimes it feels like bleeding and a curse being a chef and fighting diabetes.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for my lavish taste for food fashion and love for cars!

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
You have to know where you want to go in life. Having a set end goal and thorough plan to execute. And no matter what consistency and grit will always be a great formula for success.
