Rising Stars: Meet Alex Rowe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Rowe.

Hi Alex, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’m a native of Arizona and started working in Landscaping at the young age of 16, By working in landscaping, I put myself through college at ASU graduating with a BS in Management. Then I took the next step and become a licensed landscape contractor in 2003 and started running a successful landscape and tree business in Arizona. After doing this type of work for 35 years, I decided it was time for a change. I still wanted to be around this type of industry, so my wife and I decided to change directions and closed our landscaping business and open up AR Rentals in March of 2021. It has been a long road since we opened up during the pandemic, but after long hours and dedication, not only from both of us but also from our staff, we have grown into a business that can offer our customers the right equipment for their projects.

We not only offer rental equipment for contractors and homeowners, but we are also a dealer for several lines of equipment. Therefore, we can sell new equipment to our customers. In October 2022, we became a dealer for Curt, Aries, Luverne, and UWS products. We are now able to install hitches, toolboxes, and accessories for trucks and vans. As of November 1, 2022, we became a dealer for Old Hickory Buildings, and starting in January 2023 we will also be able to sell propane to our customers. We keep growing to meet the needs of our customers.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Like every business, we have had struggles with marketing our business to the correct end users. Our end users are contractors, landscapers, and homeowners. We currently advertise through social media, web pages, mailers, and flyers.

Because we started during the pandemic, it has been difficult to locate and purchase equipment to add to our rental fleet. But we have thought outside of the box and started looking in other states for the equipment to purchase. Now we have a great assortment of equipment that is in our rental fleet along with new equipment to sell to our customers.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a family-owned and operated Equipment Rental business in Mesa AZ. We provide quality equipment to our customers at reasonable prices to help them get their projects completed. We are also a dealer for most of the equipment that we rent, so we can sell new equipment to our customers.

With over 35 years as a Landscape contractor, we can provide the customer with the knowledge and know-how to operate each piece of equipment correctly and provide helpful suggestions for them to complete their projects the correct way.

How do you define success?
Success can be viewed all different ways, but we like to think that our business success is built on customer service and treating each customer with a friendly atmosphere and respect.
