Meet Zach Stanfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Stanfield.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Started out drawing in school growing up playing baseball, after I stopped playing in jr. college and dropped out is when I went to work for a shirt printing shop here local in bullhead city “Colorado River Tees” and started taking my art more seriously trying out quick spray galaxy art, acrylic on canvas, painted hats, venturing into airbrushing. About five years ago I did my first mural and have been growing where and with what I can ever since. To now doing airbrush art primarily to my Wax Seel concepts in the effort to make a name for myself and doing murals when and where I can find them. And much more conceptual ideas I’ve thought of along the way just trying to get there! The only trouble there being here local in bullhead city is that there isn’t much respect for art as a whole in the area, trying to make a difference in that.

Please tell us about your art.
To this point, my artwork has been mostly artist for hire learning while creating pieces by request. Recently I feel I found my more signature “that’s him” kinda thing with the look of the back of an envelope and wax seal, “letters from…” the possibilities are endless with the play that can be done with this look. Inspiration is life itself to hey that’s pretty clever, constantly thinking an seeing new ideas I would love to be able to get to soon or a later. I have my reasons for making a certain piece, but at the end, I feel the one looking at it an enjoying what they see should make their own view of it. The message at the end of the day would be we all have our masks, and every side is missing pieces to the puzzle.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success only exits if you choose for it to exist, some may say success is selling a painting for a lot of money, others it may be just being able to make the next piece. My only advice on success is to keep going. You’re going to fail a lot in others eyes.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
For the moment the only place to see my work is on my Instagram page @levitateddesigns or my personal Facebook page. I’ve been invited to RAW Artists & Chocolate and Art in Phoenix but have had troubles getting the money to line up to be able to make it, been a rough ride these last couple years.
