Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Rudolphi.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Will. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was living near downtown Chicago in Wrigleyville (by the Cubs baseball stadium), I asked my roommate one day to borrow his camera and just see if I liked capturing urban style photos in downtown Chicago. Immediately fell in love with the art of capturing perspective.
From there, I was hired out in LA to shoot real estate and then cemented myself in the San Diego area shooting content. After a few moves and finally settling here in Scottsdale, my photography and videography has catered to helping entrepreneurs, fitness influencers, business owners, and real estate professionals. Now I’m asked to travel and shoot athletes, events, weddings, and influencers all over the country.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no. Most definitely not. In photography and videography, learning how to improve is a daily task. Trying new ideas of editing and new styles of videos that others want created can be daunting. You always have to adjust and learn and that comes with lighting, the scene that you’re shooting at, the subject you’re shooting, and anything in between.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about WillyRu Photo & Video – what should we know?
I specialize in creative photography and videography services aimed at building awareness around brands, influencers, or businesses. I’m known for my fitness and athlete photography and videography.
I’m most proud of the people I’ve been blessed to get to know and work with in my business. Because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Especially to one of my best friends Caleb Hock who owns Glory Gains gym where I shoot a lot of content. Shooting for collegiate and pro athletes like Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles Chargers running back) and various other NFL And XFL prospects and players.
I think what sets me apart is that I’m able to relate with a lot of people on various topics. Having grown up with five older sisters, I had to learn how to be social and adapt. Not only that but having lived in places like Chicago, Indianapolis, San Diego, LA, Colorado Springs, and Bozeman, Montana, I’ve had to understand how to really approach and resonate with the people I interact with.
I think the concept that I don’t haggle people on price of my services. Photography is a very saturated market. Everyone is one these days but quality is tough to come by at times. What most people don’t have sometimes either is 500-$1000 to spend on such services. That why I’ve created a subscription-based service where that includes two shoots a month with editing at a fixed price that never changes. That’s an easy way for influencers who need consistent but different content to really get it a low price you won’t find anywhere else. This has even allowed me to have subscriptions in place with influencers from all over the country that I travel to for shoots.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being outgoing and adaptable to changes. I’ve had numerous shoots get rescheduled and things that happen where most would get flustered and upset that things didn’t follow through. I don’t stress the small stuff and worry more about accommodating the client rather than creating tension.
