Meet William Thomas

Today, we’d like to introduce you to William Thomas. William was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Marina Mohan.

Hi William , we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I listen to music because it always said things I never can put into words when it came to emotions, growing up, and just connecting with people in my generation. When I started making it, it gave me a voice when I didn’t know how to express myself properly. This was as proper as it got when it came to communication for me for a long time. Fast forward a decade later from just being an artist I became more aware of the power we hold as creatives in communities with peers alike. I had a movement back in the Midwest going by #DUBnation for friends and supporters who wanted to be apart of what my music stood for. After sometime of doing that and selling merch I ended up getting into better connections with not just peers but everyone I’ve come in contact with. Usually musicians would go into starting record labels for artist they supported and co-signed, but me I didn’t want to go that route. I wanted something more organic and nurturing for artist of all kinds not just music; not just vets but rookies too. That’s when I came up with an idea for a creative Co-op not just any co-op but a nonprofit. It’s not about the money it’s about the value…the quality of the process alone in being an artist and creative. It’s what everyone is manifesting! Something that not only supports them but helps them give back and gives them something to be apart of as a collective!

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
Lately I’ve been doing things beyond myself. I love making music and I love collaborations. I have so much music on YouTube and anywhere streaming! I don’t care to release music as much as I do for making it. Don’t get me wrong I drop a lot of stuff. 4Ever450 just dropped an EP with over 10 artist collaborating in the Phoenix area called Ultra High Frequency! It’s streaming on all DSPs and we also just dropped a music video called FREQUENCY on YouTube. You can find all of our work under the moniker Frequency450. Check it out when you can!

Marina Mohan and 4Ever450 have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Marina Mohan and 4Ever450 and your experience with them.
I met marina through a 3rd party connection who also happened to be a musician as well. We always got along and spoke of the same passions when it come to community and creativity. She’s been a great supporter from the gate and she has been a mirror to the care I have for this as well. All of my board members carry a deep love for the mission and vision of this collective and I’m so lucky to know all of them. Besides hosting open mics every Tuesday at the giving tree we just had another creative artist workshop for artist to collaborate and connect in the Phoenix area! Marina gives her all when it comes to this and the amount of respect and love I hold for her doing that alone is why our nonprofit is as strong and stable as it is! Whenever the board members get together we get so much done! We’ve already planned out this year to the ‘T’ the path we on speaks for itself.
